Seagulls are the worst and I sincerely hope to live to see them go extinct. The schadenfreude here being that I live in a seaside city and for a good six months of a year I have to listen to these shits with wings screech outside my window all goddamn night so I've developed a healthy and robust hatred towards them. Also they kill local birds for sport/territory. They're assholes.

Roughly 400 million to this point. Although the point of his campaign was to help steer the primary towards moderate democrats, with him being the chosen moderate the most ideal outcome. Here is an interesting article about how much he lost but why the money spent may not have been a complete waste. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/bloomberg-lost-but-he-may-still-get-what-he-wanted/

For the record, it's not like I don't know the dude's a billionare, but I'll take any schadenfreude out of a rich prick like him that I can get, and his getting completely trounced in his bid is something I'll happily revel in. That half a billion he wasted could've and should've gone to something better so it's even sweeter that he was made to look like a total asshat.

It's a 360-degree camera on a stick that erases the stick. The footage can be rotated and zoomed after it's been filmed. You can see him holding the invisible stick throughout the video.

Carthag Tuek posted:

How though?

As I see it, Curb always ends with larry getting or being about to get a consequence. It doesn't have to be deserved, much like schadenfreude itself, but it's usually in some way predictable, at least retroactively (hah). That clip is a dude who thinks he can pet a street dog and it tells him no he can't do that. That's at least 86% Curb imo.

The only way to make it full Curb is if there was a scene before where he explains how all dogs like to be petted.

That's just it, there's a whole narrative that precedes Curb's ending and it never ended abruptly following a consequence. There might be some video out there that does represent that aspect of Curb but then it caught on and people just stuck it at the end of videos like that. It doesn't fit and kind of diminishes the whole aspect of the show where there is a buildup that is absolutely crucial to the consequence that Larry faces. That's why I don't get it at all.

Yeah, it works best with videos like this:

Because while nothing bad is actively happening to the person, it's still a result of the consequence of prior events you need to understand to get why it's funny.

/joke explainer

Yes!

Carthag Tuek posted:

I gotcha, yeah. That makes sense. To me, those seconds of "hell yeah struttin', oh i'm gonna pet this street dog" part has enough build-up for Curb, but yeah it's not that solid.

Also, to be generous, Larry deserves it at least half the time.

We are agreed. :hf:
