Nonsense. I have not yet begun to defile myself.

Now I'm just thinking of that Royal Rumble where Yokozuna and the Headshrinkers met up, all kind of looked at each other, then the three of them did the Headshrinker taunt and teamed up

Yokozuna was in the '93 and '96 Rumbles only, IIRC.

'93 had both 'Shrinkers, and '96 only had Dancing to Make a Difference Fatu.

'93 had Samu get tossed after just a few minutes by Undertaker, and Fatu was gone by the time Yoko came in.

Maybe it wasn't a Rumble, but just a random Battle Royale?

they did a lot of house show battle royals in the early to mid 90s. that thing could have happened at one of those, and maybe they even televised in some markets or something. or it's just one of those undocumented online things that slip through. cagematch isn't perfect

IIRC, that was from the Taker-Yoko title match at the 94 Rumble. Yoko and the Headshrinkers (along with a gaggle of other heels) beat up Taker during the match and the trio gave him the taunt then.

The Rock is not genetically related to the Anoa'i family. His grandfather, Peter Maivia was blood brothers (which I guess is considered a *very* strong bond in Samoan culture to the point of being considered blood family, but don't quote me on that) with Reverend Amituana'i Anoa'i, the father of Afa and Sika; grandfather of Yokozuna, Roman Reigns, Rosey, Umaga, and RIkishi; and great-grandfather of the Usos.

Was Mutoh billed as a face in the US ever? I have this vague fever dream type memory of him getting a face vignette as Super Black Ninja but that would have to be in WCCW and that's before Ninja Turtles set off the ninja craze for kids I think.

So is Barbarian. And Snuka was Fijian. But they always got booked with the Anoa'is so to some extent or another they get mixed up in there.

And all Tongans, Samoans and Fijians are all culturally (and in the case of Fijians, ethnically too) diverse.

Where I live, if you call a Samoan a Tongan, and vice versa, you're asking for an asskicking.

PWG used to do DVDs where you could choose the audio track: with or with out commentary. Dunno if they still do that now or if it stopped when it stopped but there's bound to be some bangers.

Same where I live but with "hispanics/latinos". Call a Dominican guy Puerto Rican and you're in some serious trouble.

But it turns out wrestling doesn't understand such nuances as "THAT'S NOT THE SAME loving PLACE!" for some reason.

It was a shot at Dusty Rhodes for effectively using a lot of jive in his patter. Story goes that Dusty told promoters to not book black workers if he was in their territory as they did not need them, since they had Dusty.

Bad News Allen went to Vince and told him that Sapphire was a racist name to use so Vince changed it to Sweet Sapphire.

Whether or not using a name from Amos and Andy was Vince trying to take another dig at Dusty or just his own brain being terrible and racist is up to the viewer to decide.

Little late on the themes talk, but Asuka's theme is pretty similar to a King Crimson riff:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgcK6gtx9aw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SkaPAPzxyo

A much more obvious ripoff is Jericho's WCW theme just blatantly being Evenflow, and it's not remotely subtle:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gUNsskAEis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkbgtVFlyCQ

And this is just WWE ripping themselves off, but Val Venis's theme was a rework of Rick Martel's Model theme:

Marko Stunt's done some wacky poo poo where he springboards, gets caught, tossed, thrown again and then does a DDT.
