I don't think we're ever going to find out what Joe A'noai's ceiling actually is. Even if the bridges burned between WWE and him are irreparable he strikes me as the sort that would try to do something else with his life rather than continue his wrestling career elsewhere. Not that I really know poo poo. Just speculation.

He seems like the kind of guy who probably saved his money or invested it well and would be more than happy to just spend his life at home with his family. He had some good years where I'm sure he raked it in. Not sure if it's "set for life" money, but he could also probably get by with an acting job here or there since he's buff and handsome. That being said, I would be incredibly intrigued to see what he would be like in AEW. Even putting him in Bullet Club in New Japan would be something. I think he'd make a fun poo poo-stirrer alongside Tama and Jay.

I feel like it should be applied to guys who started working TV after what should be plenty of training, and were still bad, but improved to be really, really good, if not great. - I haven't seen the matches in a long time, but I feel like I remember Angle being pretty good when he debuted - he just became amazing as time went on. - Mark Henry is an interesting example, because he was brought in when he was green as gently caress; by the late 2000s, he became a really good monster heel. - Most of the Nexus guys were way too green when they were brought up for their surprise attack (except for Bryan, who got "fired"); some improved a ton, and some didn't. - The Undertaker had nothing but bad matches for the first 6 years of his WWF/E career, but improved a lot by working with guys who weren't talentless slugs. His late 90s stuff was much, much better, to where he could have great matches with great workers. Later in his career, he wrestled a lot less, stayed healthier, and had more time to plan out his matches, and put on legendary matches. Now, he's stayed too long, and his matches are going down in quality.

I feel stupid asking this one, what was the storyline in WCW where Hogan was both shaved and also had some like black face paint on? IIRC he liked absorbed the dark power from an opponent that I thought was part of the whole Dungeon of Doom thing but I don't remember. We haven't watched WWE in a few years here but have to agree. I never liked what we saw of Roman overall but every now and then there'd be glimpses where he'd be this more joyous self-aware cocky sort of thing that owned. Like him coming down with a few other wrestlers who each take their shirt off and he starts to remove his vest but then smiles and wags his finger at the camera at the last second.  Or this one Brock match he did (I forget the PPV but it was the clusterfuck steel cage one where they wrestled for maybe three minutes and then like half the WWE roster ran out and climbed on top of the cage and it just ended  ) where upon attempting to pin him he in time with the count was like flexing his muscle+counting it on his fingers in time with the ref and had a great "WHAAAAAT?" face when it only really went to 2.

That was basically to give him an edge to revitalize his character with a meaner persona after he got his mustache shaved by the nefarious Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan. Yeah, as I remember it was basically the dress rehearsal for Hollywood Hogan. Hulk's popularity had died off and fans were starting to turn on him so they toyed with making him more heelish and it got real weird and silly for a minute. Which I mean... it WAS the Dungeon of the Doom so that part made sense.

Hi, here's a few questions! 1. Is Evan Bourne/Matty Sydal still wrestling? He's not on the Evolve website, even as an alumni. 2. Is there a general age range when workers retire? I feel like guys worked until they died up until about 10-15 years ago, and now it seems like guys in their 40s are stepping back to part time or just calling it quits. 3. Has anyone purchased any wrestling-themed coronavirus masks? I bought a Kane mask from the WWE website, and it's too small, and cheaply made. I've worn it out once, and it kept sliding upwards, and it already has several threads loose. 4. I finally rewatched Bulldog/Bret from SummerSlam '92. It's a good match, but not great. I've seen some people give it 5 stars as this timeless classic, and Dave gives it 4 1/4. I feel like there were a few too many restholds and obvious instructions from Bret to Davey, but it is an interesting story about Bret walking Davey through the match. How would you rate the match, and how blown/unprepared was Davey? 5. Would the WWE's women's division be better off with their own show?

I always dug how he had a separate entrance and exit theme and his music was so different from anyone else's at the time. It really made the character stand out even more.

On the flipside the match quality would likely go up since Vince probably wouldn't give a poo poo, but overall the most plausible outcome would be the ignominious burial of the entire division.

A WWE womens show would suffer from Salutory Neglect. Give the book to Gail Simone or some of the DC-CW television writers and it could be really exciting really fast. Give it to Amy Sherman Palladino and it would beat AEW.

Here's what would happen if WWE had a women's show. - It would start being presented as a big deal with their biggest names and a lot of focus with mixed results. - They'd lose interest and the big names would go, and then the under appreciated veterans and green workers would get a little more time to develop things and there'd be a golden period of the show where no one official was paying attention so the wrestlers involved were like "lets have fun and do good stuff" for awhile. - Someone would notice building popularity and that would then end and it would become like every other hour of WWE tv. I know this because its happened to every single WWE C show for the last 30 years from Jakked to Shotgun to 205 to Heat to Velocity to Super Astros to Metal to probably Saturday Morning Slam but I never watched that one.
