Wasn’t the textile company buy just nepotistic fraud done before Williams or am I thinking of another inexplicable acquisition?

Kanji’s entire story arc is literally “Thank Christ, he’s Not Gay” and the less said about the trans misreading of the game the better so P4 still loving sucks. Pour one out to the last good Persona, 2.

Tradgames existed before Gygax, would exist without Gygax, and honestly often existed despite Gygax. We don’t need to keep parroting the hagiography of a racist libertarian nut job in this hobby, it’s 2019.

Getter is going to go farther than the limits of LANCER as a system, sadly. There's not really room laid out in the mechanics for transforming robot gimmicks.

Yeah, Wings! seems like it be a really easy adaption. Either your party has pre-existing hooks where they can effectively be plus ones for a wedding of someone they sort of know about, or they can just be hired to be at the wedding because of course you hire a group of morally flexible sellswords for weddings. poo poo like one of the couple getting grabbed by a huge bird is a noted risk in D&D fantasy world.

That was in the original game. In TORG: Eternity, the CP's had cybertechnology for quite some time now. Though if anything it's even stranger than it was in the old game. For one thing, the Scientific Method isn't really a thing in the CP. Science didn't create their technology. Instead, for most of its existence, technology came through prayer. People would pray and someone would receive a divine vision of some technological thingie. The entire drat technological infrastructure is basically "black box" technology.

They know that something works and how to make it work and even what to do to fix it if it stops working, but they don't know the "whys" for any of of it. This is a place that has nanotech immune boosters but doesn't have Germ theory.

I get why it was taken out to avoid the demon Metaplot, but this is definitely one of the places that's a step back in the new TORG. The friction of the two sides of Cyber-Papacy happening because of the Darkness Device and one dudes whims, logic be damned, was actually a good way to demonstrate both the large scale the antagonists could work at while also showing that even their biggest reality shifting moves are imperfect and exploitable.

Yeah, but I can't imagine ever having someone put my players into a contractual leglock and force them to do things without my players plotting every single vengeful bit of wriggle-room they can find to eventually spitefully tear said person's face off. Perhaps that's why I, as a player, would absolutely expect someone to plan to do the same to me. Plus, I don't think: "you blackmailed our buddy, so now we're going to be civilized and only blackmail you." necessarily follows. If I've blackmailed someone who's got powerful and loyal friends, or perhaps allies that greatly benefit from their not being blackmailed, I don't see any reason why they'd hold back from just rendering me into chunky salsa if they could get away with it and don't need me for anything.

I honestly think a mechnically iron-clad coercion would downright gently caress up my sense of disbelief, unless it was outright some sort of magical geas, and even then it's thematic that such things get perverted or broken by finding specific wordings that violate the spirit without violating the rule as written.

Sounds like a skill issue, buddy.

Reminds me of Uncharted 2 where at the end the villain does the whole "we're not so different, you and I" thing and Drake is like "no" but you just spent the last 10 hours or so gunning down a truly staggering amount of mooks to get here. It shows the limitations of what videogames can do, but it's also very funny.

Drake's actually right, though, because the villain Lazarevic killed a lot of people doing warcrimes and Nathan just killed a bunch of war criminals. That's fundamentally different.
