I don't think 40k is really gun porn heavy, I only ever here their names when someone is describing them during a battle report for profiles, or the bolter which is pretty iconic.

That's a good starting point. It even leaves lots of space for things to develop or change in the future, and a good reason for them to either raid others (looking for a fix, or just deciding the whole rest of the world is hosed up and wrong, or being promised a quick fix by the forces of evil or something) or work with the alliance (Sig fucks around with soul magic all the time, everyone does, maybe what he's trying to do to fix his godmen is something that can help these guys, not to mention soulbinding seems to fix them). Just the direction they took is 'Dark Eldar, but somehow actually worse people.' I think the whole 'souls' aspect is pretty integral to AOS as a whole though?
