the biggest problem w season 3 is that the show thrives on its character interactions and season 3 bloats the cast out so far that you barely get to see personality let alone how those personalities interact

they keep fuckin adding characters to the show like its the last show theyll ever get to do so by god they need to use every character idea they have

this seems to be a problem with a lot of shows these days. i watched all of Insecure with my then-gf. the end season 1 made me think whether the rest of it would be a laugh-out-loud show like the first half or a relationship drama like the second half. it went with neither, instead it became a boring as gently caress show where nothing of consequence happens. i guess Issa Rae didn't think it would get another season

the reaction to Joker from shitlib twitter checkmarks would be eyerolling if it didn't have such chilling undertones. it's a combination of "comic book movies are for US, not THEM" elitism and a straight-up desire for censorship in the Tipper Gore mold. and the movie hasn't even been loving released to a wide audience yet

in all likelihood, it's going to be a fine, passable movie that will be forgotten about a month after it leaves theaters, because that's all Hollywood makes these days

Cap in that book is exactly what you'd expect cap to be though

Ultimates is trash but "what if cap woke up in 2000 with all his 50s ideas and his oorah jingoism" is fine

The France line is the exception because cap would have known about the resistance!!!!!

when cap got froze, trade unions were strong, the new deal had been rammed thru, and socialist and communist parties were visible in american politics

aside from killing the museum staff and destroying a species of plant that can apparently cure just about anything and attempting to take on every superpower in the world with one country’s industrial capability in race war.

which granted was because Disney is garbage at writing villains and it’s really hard to write a country that can basically solve all the world’s problems but leaves it to rot instead as the good guys.

I remember walking out of that movie disappointed as hell by how much they wimped out like they were writing something making an actual statement but Disney stepped in and said they couldn’t do anything that alienated viewers. basically what they did with The Boondocks after the first season.

that was actually the last MCU movie I watched aside from the gloriously cheesy third Thor and I have zero interest in any of the rest of them.

the climax involved a cia agent operating a mil drone plane in foreign airspace to ensure that a succession crisis in a resource-rich african nation was resolved w the western-sympathetic side victorious

i cant believe that hiring a political essayist w no prior comics writing experience to write black panther an captain america would lead to hamfisted, over-scripted navel gazing........... ... .......

"we could have hired an experienced black comic book writer, but nah" - Marvel

i mean everyone has to start somewhere and almost every writer who comes to comics from a purely textual medium has to get comfortable w letting the art carry msg and not covering it w words

im just saying, the exact weaknesses of this writer on these comics at this pt in his career were completely foreseeäble
