been watching the watchmen and lol its loving garbage the last four loving episodes have been almost completely flashbacks, but finally revealing the actual meta plot of the series, and its out of left field because its too loving dumb to let slip early 7th cavalry want to imprison dr manhattan, who is sister night's husband and she has known the whole time, and kill him to become dr manhattan. the loving plot all revolves around the blue wonder and they missed the memo that manhattan is supposed to biting commentary on how lovely superman is and how humans (particularly americans) love the loving idea of a big daddy strongman its obvious that all of the reviewers that gave it stellar reviews were only allowed to see the first few episodes of this rubbish

But also anyone that has worked in the field knows right well that no matter how good your craft was, if it was on a lovely show, you won't get anything other than your paycheck.

lol watchmen fuckin sucks so bad 7th cavalry wants to do a racist superman, a lot of monologing about how they stumbled into their plan because the writing was so bad they didn't even foreshadow any of it trieu activates her trap card because all along it was her plan to interrupt them because she wants to do a narcissist superman/god she vaporizes all of 7th cavalry, in some anti-climatic bullshit manhattan teleports blake, ozymandias, and looking glass (lol ozymandias was on earth the whole time, he was saved years ago and kept in a statue, that whole plot arc was in the past) to antarctica and he rains frozen squids destroying a lot of tulsa in the process lol can't end it there with manhattan's power gone forever, where is our big strong daddy? so maybe sister night ate an egg that gave her the powers, lol we don't know they don't have the loving conviction to end on anything other than the loving cliffhanger from inception show sucks, only reason it exists is because manhattan can only get hard for his co-worker's daughers

everything the show claimed "to be about" occurred during specific tour guided time and places, racism against blacks only existed in hooded justice's past or when the cavalry were present, vietnamese animosity towards the us only happened in a flashback. once outside of each theme's "designated time and place" those themes completely disappeared. the most succinct summation of how the show handled all of those themes is "liberal performance" the hooded justice episode, if taken alone, is absolutely loving fantastic, but then the show moves on and everything in the story of that episode becomes immediately irrelevant edit: about the vietnamese annexation itself absolutely nothing direct. in older flashbacks there was a suicide bombing (relevant to main character), some scenes with orphans doing sweatshop work (also relevant to main character), and then in the present nothing explored it was just a set piece Reverend Dr has issued a correction as of 06:57 on Dec 16, 2019 |
