I have a low tolerance for pain in the rear end poo poo in games like that, and I remember getting a few so I don't think it was that bad. I think you had to get a few crits in a row or something, I remember it involved finding a stunfisk to clown on.

Are shadow mons good for anything outside of PVP? Are they good for raiding at all?

Looks like I had better luck than some. I do agree that last year's go-fest was a lot more shinies per hour.

Only one I already had was Dratini, so overall I'm happy even though I missed out on my most-wanted with Marowak and Gible. I've heard that the hat shinies tend to be pretty valuable so maybe I'll run into someone who would be willing to give something cool for them, since I have no interest in them.
