Watching w out sound. What's the ruling there? Looked like he managed a bit of downward pressure on grounding. Not enough control on the way down?

Russia should consider holding on after tackling.

Yeah Fiji have been fairly solid, having been able to actually train together longer than a weekend. Fast and strong as usual, but also putting phases together on a regular basis. Great kicker too. Scrum has been weak tho, and having trouble covering out wide when Australia advance. Some beautiful hits too, especially on Luke Hodge, who is now a fine suspension of particles in red mist.

Lovely steal at breakdown by Fiji.

Was getting food. Did Australia just sub entire front row?

Nicely worked try there. Australia a bit better when they are not panicking. Weird that.

Fairly standard Aus v Fiji game in the end. Entertaining first 50ish minutes as Fiji run fast and hit hard while Australia first try to throw the ball around at super speed then forget entirely how to play rugby, followed by 30 mins of Fiji being knackered and infringing as Aus keep ball in hand and march in tries. Next up is France/Argentina yeah? I want to say the argies should have it, but considering both them and france are teams who play either superbly or like a sackful of rear end in a top hat and nothing in between, I wouldn't put my house on it.

Really enjoying this game. Serious intensity from both sides for the most part. Argentina probably should be ahead, but welp, they just keep bottling it at the wrong time. Altho penalty plus 10m now so..

Wtf? Seems a weird time for a drop goal with opposition having a good period with ball in hand. 70 minutes gone i suppose, I didn't notice that at first

Yeah, tactically pehaps not ideal timing there

Ahaha, post gong fighting. Looks like it was in fact an excellent time for a drop goal. Guess this level of quality rugby analysis could be why I don't coach a national, or indeed any, team.

Actually what is the general line on enforcing offside atm? Occasionally see it enforced strictly, but rushing defense is pretty much mandatory now, esp with the pod offense structure (which someone here explained really well and thank you whoever that was). Seems a pretty fine line for teams to walk as to staying onside or ending up with gaps for runners to hit.

NZ v SA kickoff is about an hour and a bit still yeah? Time to make some burgs, grab a drink before the main event. Have managed to somehow miss every Boks game so far this year so been looking forward to this bigly. Sorry to all if I have been posting too much. I live in a rugby desert, so I am taking the chance to gorge on the stuff this World Cup.

As above, he seems caught in two minds, but considering that period of NZ wizardry I can understand second guessing yourself. Which is what the ABs do brilliantly, make the opposition doubt themselves.

Wizard Master posted:I guess this world cup is confirmed as another "All Blacks walk it in" snoozefest 😴😴😴 Nah, and i say this as an absolute AB stan. Don't know if you watched rugby championship this year but NZ are beatable (Disclaimer:AB performance in WC year not always applicable). Trick is to get them on the back foot. Smack 'em up hard, run in a couple of tries, then hold the ball. Of course, the trick is getting to that point first
