I'd have thought they'd almost certainly not get relegated even if the points penalty isn't overturned or reduced on appeal. I mean, last season they finished 47pts above relegation. If anyone else (other than Exeter) was deducted 35pts they'd have a real problem on their hands but Sarries will probably be alright.

I wouldn't have thought so, Championship players are paid peanuts by all accounts* so I doubt there's any need for one.

*There was an article in the Guardian a couple of years ago where Ben Hooper (brother of Stuart) said that when he started at a Championship club he was on £11k a year and there were some guys on the squad on about £6k.

Probably the wrong thread for it, but as someone who has grown up really close to the border and has both English and Welsh ancestry, I think the Welsh/English mutual* hatred thing is really really loving stupid and the sooner it fucks off the better.

*(Mutual ish, in my experience the English mostly don't give a gently caress unless provoked, (instead turning their racist ire on non-british people), whereas Welsh people with massive chips on their shoulders seem to care about little else).

Ah gently caress there's a bunch of games recently posted on youtube. Probably a non-exhaustive list:

English Premiership:

Internationals:

A good few games to be getting on with if you're at a loose end.

A bunch more full games have gone up on Youtube. Rather than poo poo up this thread with a wall of links, I'm just letting people know that I've made a pastebin, which I will be maintaining in the coming days/weeks (so long as it doesn't turn out to be too much effort), so feel free to bookmark it and keep checking back - https://pastebin.com/0BL9mEAv

I'm checking as many channels as I can remember, but it's probably not an extensive list. At the time of writing I've found 34 games posted, with 12 games yet to premiere (4 of which are being shown later today). If I've missed any that you think should be added, PM me.

I wonder if in the light of everything going on and stuff like this being reviewed, Exeter will cast a critical eye on their whole loving deal. Surprised they've been able to get away with it this long to be honest.

Speaking of coach hirings, Gloucester have signed ex-London Irish 2nd row George Skivington as head coach, following the whole weird Ackermann/Humphreys debacle.

As a white American I was always very confused by England fans singing Swing Low Sweet Chariot. To me it wasn't really about race, though I'll defer to the Black community on that one, it just struck me as cultural appropriation and having no understanding of where it came from or what it meant.
I'm pretty sure it started life in rugby as a bawdy song ([testicles] swinging low, coming forth, etc) that was sung in local clubhouses years before supporters of the English national team started singing it at matches.

One of the oft-commended talking points of rugby (specifically union) is that it's a game for all shapes and sizes. I mean I'm not any kind of expert on the matter so the science will ultimately sway my opinion on this, but for me to take note of the conclusions it's going to need to take account of this.

Gloucester let 1000 people in to the quins game a couple of weeks back but ticket priority was given to the people who are members of the VIP club and season ticket holders who waived the chance of a pro-rata refund, of which I am neither.

And since the rules have recently tightened I'm assuming there will be even fewer games where they let people in in the near future.

Sale team have had 16 positive COVID tests and their game against Worcester tomorrow has been rescheduled due to them being unable to field a side. Meanwhile Northampton, who are self-isolating due to having played Sale on Tuesday, and are therefore also unable to field a side against Gloucester tomorrow, have been forced to forfeit the game
