This is a preview video from a year ago, showing some of the gameplay:

the video looks great. i love the way the personalities make it feel like you are in a party of 1, and the 1 member is a schizophrenic

my one concern as always with rpgs is that there will be some skills that get used a lot more then others. always a few trap skills that get used only a few times

Nah, Lithuanian, which unfortunately is a completely different language family. Book's English translation was finished couple years back according to one of the old interviews, so must be in final proofing/editing stages by now, but they've been holding off the release due to not wanting to spoil much about the world before the game comes out, IIRC. Although that obviously doesn't help if you wanted to check out the writing before playing the game.

Unrelated, here's some non-political stuff that makes me excited for the game:

Look at it. It tells you the location of every repeatable skill check you tried/failed/came across, whether you can redo it and, if not, which skill to increase if so. How user-friendly of an idea is this?

thats cool

i know an early trailer had the buildup to a fight

for anyone else stuck at this point, i can't help but notice that screen shot was taken at night time or early morning, and the quest pretty explicitly requires you to go there first during the day because they want the guy to come home from work and see that his house was vandalized.

have you tried going to that location in the day, or is it just non-interactive no matter what?

i submitted a bug report to the devs, and in my screenshot it was 16:36, so i doubt the time of day is the issue. its just non interactive. possibly however, i waited to long after getting the key?

it does for sure, after i got the thought that adds +3 perception i saw a lot more loot, random coins laying around too. ive also noticed while switching clothes for conversations that every branch of skill has its own little orbs that pop up above your head (which could make a great source of experience farming with the right thought)

beat the game, some thoughts

brilliant writing, but i don't need to go into detail about this. got some issues though. for one the clothing system is a mess, it could have really used some auto sorting or a way to look for certain stats. walking around is also a bit of a pain, and despite my pre release surprise about the reported low amount of bugs i ran into several bugs that locked me out of content. i never got all the armor because of that, nor did i manage to ever finish the lorry or basement door quests. i wouldn't have minded more closure on some of the sidequests, even if the end the game wasn't really about all that but about the mcs inner turmoil. i also got a suspicion that there isn't actually as much difference in choices as there appear to be, and that a replay will have it be a walking dead situation where you get similar results with different voices. finally i also genuinely appreciate a game whose ideological background was in working class socialism rather than the liberal morality most games subscribe to

i hope the devs make more games, but i suspect its going to be a long time before that happens
