So, this is the way I think this is going to go down. They fail the experiment, but by that time the seeds of change have grown in the bad place. So, everyone keeps getting sent to the bad place, but the bad place has really become the OK place and the demons have taken on the mantel of rehabilitation full time rather than torture.

It's not terribly unusual for network shows to go on hiatus between Thanksgiving and New Year's and it's kinda crazy that we have the same conversation every year.

Even still, we have the same goddamn exasperated "why is this show not on" for every single network show thread during this time period going back since this subforum was created and likely before that when it was just GBS. Even if you don't live in the US, you should know by now the same way most people on this forum from the US knows that the UK usually has Christmas day special episodes of shows.

I think what may happen is that they get to the good place, some time passes, and others start getting into the good place. Then they find that eventually everyone is passing the test and getting into the good place, even bad people. They have to grapple with the idea that if everyone deserves redemption and has the opportunity to change given an eternity, then everyone may enter the good place eventually. So, there will be a time of panic that the plan has gone horribly sideways and that these people can't possibly be getting in and it's all a ploy of the demons in the bad place until they realize that in actuality that their plan has worked and these people are changing and they deserve to be there.

It does bring up an interesting question though. You get to the Good Place and your journey is supposed to be over. You totals are done. But, for that to be true, you can't possibly hurt anyone else. However, any time you have people together, there's the possibility that they might hurt each other emotionally. They spent a lot of time last episode with Chidi and Eleanor talking about spending eternity with each other. What if they get to the Good Place and they go "Oh no, you can't be together because there can't be a chance for your points to go down!"
