Playing the wondering game, I wonder if Pog doesn’t mess up that corner how the last stage ends? I think just by body language MVDP still had it but I think Pog returns for revenge.

MvDP has a much better sprint so pog was always the underdog without some up hill to try and tire him out. All the little accelerations pog had to do that Mathieu didn't because of his better cornering would have added up.

Sonny Colbrelli falling off his bike, covered in mud, and writhing about in joy was the best of all time.

Pog wins Roubaix the same way he wins MSR. Either MvDP doesnt turn up or lets someone else follow his big attack.

The second it got to a group of just Pog and MvDP Pog had lost. Imo his big chance this year was a group of 5 or 6 and just slipping away in the last 30kms when people were tired and constantly attacking like when Van Baarle won.

Fun race all in all, nice to see that Pog is sometimes human. But god loving dammit at that Mads P puncture. I really thought he had an outside shot this year.

Oh well, maybe next year. At least we won the U23 race :denmark:

Mads clearly could have stayed with Pog and MvDP. But Rouxbaix always comes down to luck.

Yeah, it really does. And in a sprint between those three I think Mads would have had more than a decent chance.

Who knows what would have happened if Pog hadn't overcooked it in that corner.

Pogs finished on the podium of the last 5 monuments. Only other rider to do that was Sean Kelly.

Yeah given how cooked Mathieu was at the end Mads would have had a really good chance

Both Mathieu and Pog were cooked when they crossed the line, I keep remembering Pog crossing out on to the asfalt in the last bits just to avoid a second of cobbles. Just a second, he was hammered.

Mads obviously had a sprint left in him, but I can't imagine that he wasn't extremely tired as well. But we'll never know. At least until next year :getin:

And what I like most about Mads is that he still had a smile on his face talking to danish tv, saying "Det er sur røv" (this sucks rear end), and now I'm going to McDonalds and have one of each :munch:

edit: to clarify Mads said he was going to McDonalds and eat everything. I'm sure he can do that without issues, if I did that I would probably blow up.

Oh, and I really hope they find the rear end in a top hat that threw a bottle at Mathieu.

It was apparently a full bottle, and those of you who cheered that kind of behavior can go gently caress yourselves.

He said “poo poo happens” in the English interview as well. Good guy and good rider, hopefully he can win one of these days.

No one here cheered it on. There was one post saying "Good shot, though" (which it absolutely was). Rule #1 of this thread is "gently caress the spectators", you know
