I hate when the last real stage of a grand tour is a time trial, it takes all the reaction, team dynamics, and general drama out of the defining stage of the race. There should really be another mountain stage after any TT before the tour finishes.

I was shouting at the TV for final TT of the '20 Tour and the '23 Giro, and god knows for the Giro at least there was not a lot of that. So while intellectually I might think there should be something more, it seems that in practice a final ITT can be good. It just needs to go up a very steep hill.

Agreed, having that bike change for the steep hill adds another opportunity for a gently caress up or snatching a few seconds if you do it right
