Data doping is the next big thing in Zwift racing. The UCI will be round to calibrate your power meters soon.

DCRainmaker's take

"Well, the definition of ‘now’ is probably important here. After all, nobody knew about this in public until Caley’s article. According to Zwift though, Caley was in turn tipped off to the details by someone in the Zwift community (probably another racer). But also according to Zwift, the details of these have apparently been published for a while."

Fun fact: I am (probably another racer)

Another fun fact: There is virtual sock height enforcement in the Pro-Am invitational Zwift races.

It's really not, this is just people failing to submit data correctly (more likely due to technical fuckups rather than hiding dodgy data, due to happening in innocuous events on a single occasion) but then lying about it.

Nah, it's a real problem. As you said these two riders were people who weren't practiced at cheating and were just trying to cover-up their pairing fuckups. The fact that there's only two sanctions despite a large number of elite Zwift racers putting up mind boggling numbers in Pro-Am events just means that people are cheating and getting away with it.

Should have taken the 1 race DQ because now you're never going to lose the stigma of cheating.

Yeah ignorance being used as an excuse. I don't know how "Can you help recover the file?" turns into her friend taking the Zwift file and punching it through fitfiletools.com with a 1% multiplier. Ultimately the responsibility is hers to provide the data as requested.

Have they relaxed any of the geometry rules? Cool new bikes would be good compensation

You're going to see a lot more people rotate their body positions forward, up to the 5cm saddle setback limit or seek morphological exemption. This will allow long-legged, short-torsoed riders to adopt the "prawn" or "mantis" position with their elbows bent and hands on the tops...without their knees banging into their elbows.

I'm not in favor of any of these bans, personally, but I do think that "puppy paws" is actually more dangerous than "supertucking." In the supertuck, you're still gripping the bars with your hands. With puppy paws, it's just your forearms keeping the bars straight. One depression or bump in the road and you're likely to go down.

This sort of thing shouldn't be done only via e-mail though, or it should be heavily telegraphed by the UCI across several forms of communication. It makes a lot more sense to also send team management the same information so that they relay it to the riders themselves. My default behavior with e-mail is to ignore it unless I'm expecting to be contacted.

He wanted to stay...for a fair price.

DSM got poo poo on by absolutely everyone for letting Hirschi go (and Kelderman and others before them.) Now they're just trying to stir up poo poo so it looks like they have a reason. Like, come on, why would THEY agree to an NDA and not the other way around. That suggests that they had zero control over the entire situation and that Hirschi was in the driver's seat. If they've got evidence of Hirschi using PEDs or anything, they wouldn't just let him walk into UAE's open arms.

It wasn’t just Asgreen either. As soon as Asgreen pulled up to the MvdP group, Soren Kragh Andersen put in a dig to keep the group stretched out around the final corner only to peel off before the sprint.

Well if the barriers don't completely give way, you aren't going to slam into a wall. You'll slide a bit or bounce off. Those water-filled Boplan plastic barriers seem like the best solution. They have a lot of give, but won't disintegrate or collapse like some of these other lovely fences.

Looks like a combination of very, very slight parallax in the broadcast view...like 1deg

+

Demi leaning toward the camera and Ruth leaning away...the leading edge of Demi's tire is closer to the camera plane than the paint directly beneath it while the opposite is true of Winder's tire.

+

The possibility that the painted line is misaligned

+

A slight possibility that the high-speed camera's own projected line is misaligned or even completely offset.
