I want Froome and Geraint Thomas positives from retesting old samples to happen during the tour

In a cleaner sport I'd expect Slovenes to dominate. They're just built different. Just look at Luka Doncic being the best player in the NBA and Goran Dragic carving up the Bucks

Just put bets on Slovenia to win the world cup and euros and maribor to win the champions league

Even more amazing our clean British Lion Chris Froome was able to beat a drugs cheat like Quintana so many times

Bud Manstrong posted:He said some lousy poo poo to Cory Williams earlier this year, and I’d bet a lot of money the team told him if he did it again there’d be some problems. I know Cory's older bro Justin IRL and he's a super nice dude, but did this guy say something other than "you aren't fast enough" or whatever? I think more of the problem is he's a square peg for a round hole as a crit racer in a USA development program that develops climbers and TTers pretty much exclusively. They'd probably have both been better off racing kermesses for a couple years instead of doing the lovely USA pro circuit and crits

Yeah I dunno, Eric Marcotte was a dentist, didn't go pro until his late 20s and won the USA road race at 34. Then there is Roglic of course. Talent shines through. Those development programs burn out as many promising racers as they produce.

VacaGrande posted:Next time you're chillin' with your pals the Williams brothers, tell them that Cory didn't make it on to the national team because he just wasn't good enough. Let us know how that works out. Saying "talent shines through" is ignorant of how the world works. Yeah he really missed out on a middling career as a domestique before retiring in his mid 20s to become a gravel racer like all the dross USA cycling turns out these days

moctopus posted:Kind of. It's just a bit out there to win a grand tour with covid. So I'm rolling it around my head is he on PEDs (outside the regular reasons to think he is, Ineos/professional cyclist), Did he not contract it until it was over? Was he asymptomatic? Was he just that much better than his competition this year? He's young and fit
