Man the EF kit doesn't even have a cool TT helmet.

I really liked that they took a big swing last year.

Its going to be an absolute monster of a sprint finish today. Last half of the stage looks like its on massive main roads.

I'm wondering where Groenewegen's head is at.

I think Ewan has a fair shot today.

Ganna vs. Remco sprinting for those bonus seconds was cute.

God dammit. Ban that driver.

Did this already get posted?

Bernal has covid.

moctopus

I know there's a ton of questions about how significantly he was affected, when he actually caught it, if he was vaccinated, but it's still wild to have the news declared that you have covid right after winning a grand tour.

Are you wondering if they swept some positives during the last stages under the rug?

Kind of. It's just a bit out there to win a grand tour with covid. So I'm rolling it around my head is he on PEDs (outside the regular reasons to think he is, Ineos/professional cyclist), Did he not contract it until it was over? Was he asymptomatic? Was he just that much better than his competition this year?

Make every cyclist choose between aero bars and mountain bike bars each road race.

What a day 1.

Ok sure Pogacar.

moctopus
Nov 28, 2005

Cav is 36. I don't believe any of this is happening.

Sneaky that they cancelled the tour this year and are instead showing replays with new commentary and overlay graphics to get the names right.

moctopus

I gotta say teams trying to murder each other so early in the tour has been a lot of fun. What a fun first 8 stages.

About 5 sticky bottles in a row there Nairo.

Big ouchie for Tony.

moctopus

I think Cav's performance is more suspect than Pog's, but they're both benefiting enormously from their primary competitors being out of the race already.

Hell yeah Nils!

I hope he has tube socks on too.

moctopus
Nov 28, 2005

If Froome were still on Ineos, came to the tour as their leader, and Pogacar was one of the GC contenders that was injured, where do you think he'd be in the standings today?

I wonder if he'll recover more/build more fitness.

Polite of Movistar to do whatever Cav tells them to.

I'd like to see TTTs through technical courses. I think that would be interesting.

I already want that for ITT. As well as shorter and punchier in nature.

Both the Keirin they do at worlds/the olympics and the one they do in Japan are rad as hell, but they're a bit different.

Watch both if you can.

Track has so many cool events. Elimination, Keirin, team pursuit, and the kilo are probably my favorite.

Kilo is kind of boring to watch but I'm fascinated by the training.

It's very jarring to see cyclists with muscles.

moctopus
Nov 28, 2005

I missed it, but looking at the results now. Didn't realize Roglic really put a hurtin' on everyone else.

Wondering what kind of time Pogacar would have put up.

moctopus
Nov 28, 2005

Perhaps we'll get a GvA/Gilbert scenario with Remco and Wout. Keep the tradition.
