The lenses in the upcoming device seem to be something like these: https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/display-solutions-us/solutions/ar-vr/
One video there mentions that the lenses have adjustable focus - so no need for glasses.

Just get one of the recommended tp-link routers and put it between current cable and pc. You will get proper speed from pc to router and dedicated wifi to quest

I wonder if that new "high end" headset facebook is building will finally have varifocal tech. They have been teasing that in their labs for like, 5 years now, and with that headset supposed to have eye tracking, I wonder if it will finally be there.

IIRC last year at Connect Carmack said that varifocal turned out to be harder than they thought.

One thing that is supposedly coming with the premium Quest 2 is pancake lenses. So no need to wear glasses when using headset.

Its a question of how good Qualcomm's new XR is, since the Q3 chip will be made specifically for it.

As I understood from Carmacks talk the next xr is shaping to bee too good and will probably be litified for Quest 3 to get the cost down.
Also the quest 2 price increase was because the free apps are too popular.

They realised too late that all anyone was buying a Quest for was to play Beat Saber, Rec Room, VR Chat, Echo VR or iRacing. And only one of those gets Facebook any money, and even then only once.

Yes. Carmack said that popularity of the free apps, sidequest and sideloading are the reasons for the price increase.

Honestly the Connect shoud be just his talk, as he usually answers and gives reason for all the questions and speculations that arise after the conference.
