Leathal posted:Thanks for this, that specific part of the Ars review was a deal killer for me. All the other negatives fall into the manageable-via-Frankenquest category except maybe the single panel but my IPD matches one of the three selectable options. I think whoever spoke to the author misspoke, they probably meant to say that the algorithm to track the controller is now able to track when seeing fewer LEDs, when dealing with specific edge cases, rather than the hardware has fewer LEDs, which it does not.

Tip posted:While it's possible they make major improvements to it I will be very surprised if it ever matches up to Oculus's inside out controller tracking. So far I don't think any other company has managed to do it nearly as well. I wrote a couple blog posts explaining in detail how we improved it https://developer.oculus.com/blog/increasing-fidelity-with-constellation-tracked-controllers/ https://developer.oculus.com/blog/tracking-technology-explained-led-matching/?locale=en_US https://developer.oculus.com/blog/optimizing-oculus-insight-controller-tracking-to-work-in-challenging-conditions-like-near-holiday-lights/
