I just bought a Quest 2 but I'm still waiting for my link cable to arrive in the mail. Bit confused about wireless streaming my steam games. I managed to get Air Link working and it has a native desktop function which seems to work pretty well. Every guide I have seen mentions the paid Virtual Desktop app, is it a must have or just a recommendation?

So I decided to finally give Lone Echo a try. Everything in space is really great but the alien ship is tedious as hell... feels like they're padding the game out here. Won't stop me from buying the sequel tough. Philthy posted:Someone pointed this guy out before, but it's hilarious so I'm posting it again. No nudity or anything, just a guy in a VR suit doing amusing poo poo. This is from a few pages back but the pole dancing Linus had me killing laughing.

I'm a pretty new VR user but I'm holding off on Alyx until I play a bunch of VR games first. I'm afraid Alyx will ruin a majority of games once I play it.

Thanks for the GRIP recommended on Steam sale. Loving the futuristic racing in VR, takes me back to sinking hours into Wipeout and Extreme G on the N64. I'm playing it on my Quest2, with Virtual Desktop. On loading screens I get that horrible flickering effect. I have noticed it on other apps as well but it's by far the worst here. Is there anyway to get rid of it?

What's a good arcade-y type shooter I can get on Steam? Already played Arizona Sunshine now I'm playing Into the Radius... while it's good it's a bit slow and can be too involved. Sometimes I just want to shoot and things to go boom.

I try to stick to Steam since I don't want to be giving Zuck any more dollars than I have to. But, Robo Recall looks good. Might be exactly what I'm after. edit - Lunchmeat Larry posted:Sairento is a little older and shows it in places, but it still has the most satisfying movement and gunsblasting I've played in VR so far. It's arcadey to the point that it even opens with a mode for if you bought it to use for players into your literal VR arcade lol Thanks this looks good, I'll give this and Serious Sam a try Nowher fucked around with this message at 14:18 on Jun 5, 2022 |

I also took the thread's advice and got myself a WiFi 6 router. I went from an an expensive D-Link AC router to the Asus RT-AX55 (I think it's the same as the AX1800) which was recommended by VD. All my streaming issues went away. Very happy I can now play multiplayer games without that weird 5 second freeze/stutter at the worst possible times.

I've also been playing Serious Sam 2 VR. Such a blast from the past, translates very well to VR.

Neddy Seagoon posted:Moss: Book II just dropped on Steam. If you like the first game, it's well worth a play. That's great news, had no idea it was coming to steam. I was under the impression it was going to be a quest exclusive. Loved the first one, was the only non first-person VR game I ever played and was surprised how well it worked.

Turin Turambar posted:I just upgraded from a gtx 1080 which was broken and performing a bit below a 1070 to a rtx 3070, so well, time to come back to some titles in PC VR land I had pending! Nice, enjoy. Lone Echo 2 is a fantastic game, but it's an absolute beast on hardware requirements and doesn't feel as optimised as the first game. I've also got a 3070 and it just manages to be playable on Medium settings.

Draynar posted:Is only place to buy lone echo 1 / 2 on occulus store? Crap is always full price. Yeah it is, on the Oculus PC store. The sequel is really more of the same if you enjoyed the first game, but flying around the outside the space station is just so awesome. I have pretty good VR legs, but Ultrawings is the only game I had to stop after 20 minutes due to motion sickness .

Hell yeah. While it can be pretty janky, it's heaps of fun. Nothing like jumping over your enemy, slowing time to unload a few shotgun shells to the head and then finishing them off with the sword on the way down.

Manager Hoyden posted:My bitterest disappointment was finally buying Until You Fall and discovering it was Fruit Ninja in an anime costume Yeah it's also super grindy. While pretty fun at first I got tired of fighting the same enemies over and over. It's also quite stingy with the upgrade points. I just ended up setting it to the lowest difficulty and got towards the end game but never finished it. Total playtime was maybe 3 hours? Not sure if it was worth the price.
