The new Brume release its actually an extended cut of the old version.

Those who don't know sokpop, the collective releases 2 games a month and you can subscribe to their patreon as low as $3/mo to get them

A game from back in August, Bobo Robot, I highly recommend. It's a byte sized metroidvania sorta thing with a whole heap of charm.

https://sokpop.itch.io/pupper-park

Pupper Park is a sandbox game about dogs in a park. Play as a dog and fetch balls, run around, scare frogs, and play football.

You can, to my knowledge, not pet yourself.

this was good, if a bit on the short side (2 hours-ish)

I just finished up myself, I don't hate it or anything but I don't think I'll be suggesting it to people.

The core mechanics are really cool but the puzzles themselves felt kinda weak. There was only one that actually made me think about how to use what I had available. Quite a few "bet you weren't expecting to have needed to carry that item from the last room" early on trained me to not drop anything until I get to a legally distinct materials emancipation grid. After the first couple of Audiologs every time I saw one coming up all that was in my head was "will this be a joke from portal or stanley parable?"

it really doubled down and nearly lost me when the AI lady told me I was going the wrong way but I pushed through which was kinda ok because the actual ending sequence is pretty well done

Another one of the sokpop patreon games got a deluxe version out today on steam.

Think if it like Lego transport tycoon. They added a whole slew of levels as well as an editor and workshop support for custom challenges.

https://tesselode.itch.io/eatgirl
Eat Girl is a "pac-like" where you gotta gobble up all the dots in each level without getting hit by the enemies. It's got a pretty cool speed/momentum mechanic as well as all new kinds of enemies that will try and stop the girl from eat.

Eat girl isn't SUPER fresh but there is a fresh new 1.1 patch with some QoL changes based on feedback and some more post-game secrets. The visuals are really cool, lots of sweet effects going on that you can read about here if you're so inclined https://medium.com/@tesselode/using-shaders-to-make-trippy-backgrounds-c109989ea037

e. I haven't played it so I won't "endorse" it but I feel obligated to at least put whatever this is in front of some eyeballs that might not see it

Update, I watched a short youtube video of Superliminal, and the nausea issue was still present. If you're concerned it might be a problem for you I suggest watching a youtube clip to find out.

I had the same issue with both Jazzpunk and Antichamber, and I'm glad I bought both those games, so if you like the concept I think you should get Superliminal anyway.

For what it's worth there's an fov slider, people close to me who got sick from games have had some degree of luck tweaking a combination of that and lowered mouse sensitivity.

I'm not very far into it yet but so far I an rather enjoying Mosaic.
It's real pretty but definitely not a game everyone is how enjoy.

Its got a sick clicker mini game built in you can play on your phone while you commute to your soul sticking corporate nightmare job.

Frog Detective 2:The Case of the Invisible Wizard dropped this week.

It's got just about anything you could ask for in a game, except for maybe a highly in depth player driven hat based economy.

At least it's getting slightly better on the visibility side.

The year shovel knight came out that was essentially the only indie game mainstream press covered.

The new sokpop patreon game came out, haven't had a chance to play it myself but it looks pretty cool.

Yes grandpa, slaps means good.

It takes a little bit for it to get on its feet and start running but once it takes off it really does. Story mode took me about 5 hours, but I'll be doing the dubgeon-rush challenge modes for a good while.

e. I got this game to check that the windows build worked on someone else's computer, I'm a couple levels in so far and I'm really digging the mechanics. It works in real time but you only interact via typing console commands and watching another person try to sneak around. Still only getting basic tutorial stuff but I can see where these systems could all combine to make some cool levels that require you to really think about what tools are available.

I was very excited about this until I saw "procedural generation" in the description. Just how procedurally generated is this game? I usually don't like it because I think it leads to extremely generic worlds.

Literally everything that's the whole point of the game.

Entire overworld, most of the dungeon layouts and even the order you get items and fight most of the bosses.

My suggestion is the itch desktop app

Works better than steam does most of the time.

Saw a post showing the massive Spike in site traffic and thought about how itch had taken no VC money and the cut from each sale made on the sure is left up to the creator, anywhere from 100 to 0%

One I had a chance to poke around at an early build of that just dropped is WildFire. It's a 2D stealth platformer where you gain the ability to manipulate elements that combine together in some pretty cool emergent ways.

So how's this in contrast with Noita?

It's nowhere near the depth of that from what I've seen, not having played noita. My understanding is that more of an open world sort of thing where this is individual levels on an overworld.

not unless you're doing the 'borderline arg' level secret stuff that comes well after getting the good ending
