Do they have an obligation to? Even a moral one? Honestly I don't think (I hope!) Apple actually uses curl in their products (probably a good thing). It's just provided as a convenience to developers who might be used to it.
I got curious about Apple's use of Curl and Googled it. One of the top hits was another blog post complaining about Apple not donating Macs:

I think you could replace 99% of the uses of Curl (download one file via HTTPS) with like 100 lines of Python or Rust or Go. It's not critical infrastructure in the same way that OpenSSL or LLVM or WebKit are.

gotta remember that the curl project includes libcurl, which is included in at lot of surprising places. its a very convenient library for closed source apps as it's mit licensed

i got a speeding ticket in the next state over when i was like 19 and my dad insisted on going with me to court and that we both wear suits. we got there and the judge was like, i guess you're the lawyers? and i was like, no i'm the kid who was speeding. and he was like, well talk to the DA and we'll make it a non-moving violation (which is what he did with every speeding ticket that was being contested that day)

many years ago i got a ticket a few counties over and was going to pay it but procrastinated. finally went to the court house on the court date intending to just pay it, and the clerk called me an idiot and told me to just go upstairs to court. without me so much as saying a word, the prosecutor says "I don't think you were doing 15 over, I think you were doing 5 over. I'll have it dismissed it if you go to traffic school". never even saw a judge

On a side note I feel we can take Unionization into the tech world as a start up or an App.

Imagine a blind-esque App that just allows everyone participating to vote anonymously for a union. Then AFTER a union is official then leaders and instigators could reveal themselves or maybe there were no leaders or instigators the whole thing was p2p.

I feel something as easy and convenient as blind can allow "unions in limbo" to form at basically every company. Basically the votes for a union are in, the requirements are met but nobody is really running the show. When times change and companies pull this mass layoff BS... then people can immediately elect a rep to take the reigns as a point of negotiation...?

Is an organization that constantly take something similar to an HOA fee really required all the time? We just really need to have organized negotiations and communications with management WHEN needed. Like the immune system.. activation only during emergencies.

Good idea? Yay or nay

this mf about 30 seconds away from suggesting unions on blockchains

Only in America! But seriously how is this not child abuse?

This is not 1984. It's hard to regulate/control what hundreds of millions of adults are doing to their children. Stories that get media attention of abuse overlook the thousands of incidents in which nothing happens.
