I'm sure you've all read about the latest in a long line of crazy developments in Mexico, now with the big clash in Culiacan where (the story keeps changing) apparently they send some troops to arrest one of El Chapo's sons and like hundreds of cartel gunmen showed up to start wrecking the city until they eventually let him go Some wild videos and photos coming out of there. The whole incident has been blackly humorous in the way real life is. Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if the mumbling is either: A) a gimmick to get people's attention and have them wander over and see what they're selling B) the guy having the same route for years and the mic/speaker blowing out and saying "gently caress fixing it, they know the truck, they know what I sound like more or less, they'll know its me"

Most of the documentary follows a CSI team in Mexico and how they deal with collecting heads in garbage bags, scraping charred corpses off the seat of a half melted truck, and so on. Their team loses members over time due to folks either quitting because they got threatened, or getting murdered because they didn't listen to the threat. During the making of the film, the head honcho of that team gets a threat and quits the day after. I can't really speak for the military side of things, but im going to hazard a guess by saying the military brass and politicians aren't ready to surrender them and their families lives by declaring hunting season on cartels. Anywho, the film is a great watch and I recommend it to folks who are interested in this sorta stuff. Also none of it is censored so just fyi. e: If you're the reading type, Drug War Zone by Howard Campbell is a great read. Lots of firsthand interviews from enforcers, cartel members, victims, other folks who got too close.
