I can’t tell if a pro-Biden/Harris person or anti-Biden/Harris person made this.

fwiw I hang out with a LOT of burnout hippies, and hear a LOT of pseudoscience nonsense (I've explored a lot more of rationalwiki now, as a traveller, than I ever did as a hacker - and random articles no longer feel like quirky 'yeah but nobody actually believes this, right?' essays). I've met my share of 'fried' people. It's really common for some fool 20-year-old kid to wear linen loosely and pretend to be a magical shaman and dose people and put nonsense into their heads before feeling them up. And I see a lot of magical thinking in these environments, where psychadelics are very commonplace. I also indulge in a lot of psychadelics, and I really infuriate a lot of hippies when I announce at the fire that 'I don't believe in magic', and back my poo poo up when they get curious or indignant. The drugs never lured me away from a grounding in reality, any more than being 'extremely online' did. But I have an academic background (I mean, undergrad only - but passionately studying) in philosophy and psychology, and my views shifted radically as a result of my education. Two decades arguing on here (after 9/11, this subforum split off from GBS as 'philosophy and current events') helped a lot too. But if you're properly grounded, I don't think psychadelics necessarily unground you.
