We've come to the end of the road. Two teams will enter, one team will leave a champion. Who will it be? American League Champions: Houston Astros - Juice Box Heroes https://twitter.com/astros/status/1186326502427811841?s=20 What makes them special? To put it simply, they're a well oiled machine. They're built to win, and with their 2nd World Series appearance in just 3 years, they're here to prove just that. After dominating the AL West, they put the nails in the coffins of both the Tampa Bay Rays and the infamous New York Yankees, the latter with an exclamation mark heard around the world. They're the easy bracket pick of the postseason. They have an elite starting pitching core with Verlander, Cole, and newest pickup Grienke with hitters like Bregman and Altuve, which should things go their way, could easily put the Astros in a 3-0 series lead by the end of the week. What should they watch out for? The road to the World Series has not been as smooth of a ride as the road to the playoffs. Tampa Bay gave them a challange and forced a game 5 in the ALDS, and it took a walk-off home run from Altuve to secure the ALCS after Osuna blew the lead in the 8th inning. If this titan of a team becomes too shaky, it could lead to a collapse. National League Champions: Washington Nationals - Started from the bottom now we're here https://twitter.com/Nationals/status/1186507471847907333?s=20 What makes them special? Honestly, if anyone told me at the end of May that the 19-31 Nationals were going to the World Series, I would have laughed in their face. Everything looked like it was going to yet another failing year for them, especially since star player Bryce Harper took a truck full of money and went to their division rival Phillies. But something clicked, like a team as a whole had a epiphany and tore through the 2nd half of the season like a hot knife through butter and made enough of an impact to qualify for the Wild Card game, where Milwaukee imploded. The same happened to the Dodgers in the NLDS, and then the Nationals made fried chicken out of the Cardinals in a 4 game sweep. Like the Astros, look for elite starting pitching in Scherzer, Strasburg, and Sanchez with quality hitting from Kendrick and Soto. The Nats know how to rally and know how to fight. What should they watch out for? Their bullpen. Earlier this year they had literally the worst bullpen in all of baseball, and though they've turned things around to just an "okay" bullpen in the playoffs, it might not be enough to win it all, and if the Astros go for blood, that'll be all what stands between glory and another year of Nationals memes. What should we expect from this series? It's the postseason so who the hell knows. On paper I would at least expect a pitching duel or 2. Hell, this series is most likely going to be a knock down, dragged out fight, but it's October so anything is possible. Should both teams play at their absolute best, this series going to 7 games would almost be a given. Welcome to the World Series. We made it. Rooting for the Nats, but no Cardinals, Brewers, or Yankees, so I'm pretty chill. Fire Taubman and Osuna.

Kevlar v2.0 posted:Fire Taubman and Osuna. Right now please. If we can't win without them we don't deserve to win. EDIT RE poll: I wish I could choose both options because in general I like DH but right now Alvarez has been really disappointing in the postseason.
