I see many builds using the Corsair H100i water cooler. Is it used for noise mitigation, or are the latest Ryzen chips that OCable, or do people want to contribute to local light pollution that badly?

For your general, basic 5600x + 3080 system, should an EVGA gold 750w power supply be sufficient, or is it safer to go 850?

My 2500k + evga 1070 is starting to act unreliably, so I think I'm just going to go ahead and build a new system. I bought the 2500k on release (~2011?), but I upgraded from a radeon 5890 to the evga 1070 in early 2017. My target machine is to game at 1440p and 144hz. Thinking about the Dell 2721dfg , but going to hold off on that until I can get my hands on a 3080 or a good sale on the monitor. I plan on using the 1070 until I can snag a 3080. I have a new, wrapped EVGA 650w gold power supply from a recent RMA. Would this work, or should I just stick with the 750w? I could try to sell the 650w on SMart or ebay to recoup the cost.

How hot does the back of a mobo get? I'm waiting for my case to come, but I want to test out the components with enough time left in microcenter's return policy if I have issues. Is it ok to boot it on the static-free bag? What's good practices?

I just installed my first nvme drive this weekend, but had sata ssds for quite some time. Win10 is usually on the desktop before my 8 year old monitor turns on. It's insane. Usually I'd see the windows load screen with my sata ssd.

The 5600x comes into stock online at $300 rather frequently if not. You just have to watch the stock discords nowadays.

I also purchased the Dell S2721DGF, which is my first >60hz, Gsync monitor. While I can't get this system to run some games >100fps using the 1070, it works for most games. As described above, I bought the Fractal Meshify 2 Company. Cases have had quite the design upgrade since my last case: the Antec p180 mini. Two questions: 1) The M2C comes with two G-14 (140mm) fans on the front and 1 G-12 (120mm) on the rear. Do I add any more fans? I can add up to two exhaust 120 or 140 mm fans to the top. I won't be OCing much (maybe the 3080 when I get it, minimally?), and I'd like to keep positive pressure in the case for dust reasons. 2) I doubt many KVM switches support GSync well. Does anyone have experience w/ a good KM switch that's able to use a hotkey on the keyboard rather than pressing a button on another device?

So it seems like my ~2 month old computer is encountering a boot error. It posts fine, but as Windows is loading, the circle just stops and eventually gives me Stop Code: SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED. I haven't altered my hardware for about 1.5 months. I did keep this computer on for a week straight for the first time. No power blips in that time. Prior to reformatting my drive tonight, it was exhibiting this same behavior but sometimes I could get it to boot. Now post-reformat, it does not seem to want to pass the Windows load screen. I also reset the BIOS to default. Bad nvme drive, or are there other diagnostics I can perform?
