I agree with Gregg. I bet Steve Zahn would be thrilled to know the VHS made it back to the iconic National Security filming grounds.

Yeah he is, as someone who wasn’t really familiar with his work outside of OCATC it’s pretty wild. He has a great mind for satire and seems sharp as a knife. Makes his OC character a little bit funnier too lacking any sort of critical eye and being so focused on filming locations and runtimes.

In a previously posted interview Gregg said in the 80s or 90s he once pressed 500 (I think that's right) copies of vinyl of Neil Hamburger performing on one side, and the "making of" of that performance on the other side. Which was an interview with an English guy and Neil.

Gregg and co would go to secondhand stores etc and plant these. Never to see the reactions. Just the thought of people picking this thing up and having no idea what they'd listened to was motivation enough.

That's something right there.

My mom is cracking me up right now she's talking like Gregg.

She just said she doesn't like "Rocky" because Rocky should have won at the end. And "And I think a lot of people were shocked that they got to the end of the movie and Rocky didn't win the fight, when the movie is named Rocky"

Yeah he owns, although it was funnier when no one knew who he was and would get mad at him. If you can find a show like that always go.

I saw him in 2010 when he opened for the Tim and Eric Awesome Tour they were doing before the Chrimbus Special. I didn't know him (either as Neil Hamburger or Gregg) as well as I do now, and I thought he was really funny. Maybe he's different now but he's a lot more acerbic and shocking than he was on, say, the guest hosting he just did on Office Hours.

I think I posted my Neil Hamburger story here before but I'll do it again.

We saw him around 2010, he had a show at a bar in Tempe. The first thing he asked, I'm pretty sure, was "Are there any blacks in the audience?" And then he spent ten minutes asking if there were any of pretty much every race in the audience. At the end he said "Well I heard this bar served mixed drinks." It killed. He also had like five or six drinks that he was trying to hold at the same time. It was a great show, hopefully he comes back this year.

I watched this set the other day where he does the setup for a joke about KISS but then delves into a ten minute hilarious rant about how terrible KISS is and how much he hates them, with fictional elements about how they sold and produced records. It was amazing. Then he was like "Oh yeah let me finish the joke from before"

Ingmar terdman

I saw him at the Kennedy Center and after a joke didn't hit he said "JFK died for this?!"

Cognac McCarthy

It's a man's game, but boys will play

I saw him perform after a screening of "Entertainment" and it was pretty good, but it was also bizarre because his routine used some of the jokes that his character uses in the movie. So to go from a deeply sad movie where his pathetic character is bombing on stage and falling apart personally to a standup set where he tells the same jokes and everyone in the audience laughs at them was odd.

I actually find him funniest when he's off the cuff, like his Office Hours or Comedy Bang Bang appearances. His ability to remember how some old public figure died, or to accuse them of being pedophiles at the drop of a hat, is truly remarkable
