I think I posted my Neil Hamburger story here before but I'll do it again. We saw him around 2010, he had a show at a bar in Tempe. The first thing he asked, I'm pretty sure, was "Are there any blacks in the audience?" And then he spent ten minutes asking if there were any of pretty much every race in the audience. At the end he said "Well I heard this bar served mixed drinks." It killed. He also had like five or six drinks that he was trying to hold at the same time. It was a great show, hopefully he comes back this year.

I realized an irony about Gregg today. While his reviews are extremely surface level and his self-described expertise is overblown, he would have made for a good marketer or hype man. He's so excited at the idea of Dune as a franchise more than the movie itself or anything contained within. Dune might be filling the Hobbit Hole left in his heart now that they aren't making any more Middle Earth movies. That might be why James Bond is so appealing, there will always be another James Bond movie.

Tim has so many projects going. Has it ever been said why Eric Wareheim isn't part of OC? Does he mainly do producing stuff these days or something? I heard he released a cookbook recently. And they did Beef House last year, so I know they didn't have a creative difference split or anything.

I'm gonna watch it in pieces as my time allows but holy hell, Tim has this amazing way of delivering lines in a hilarious/pathetic way. "I got this at CVS on my way to get my diabetes medicine." Has me in stitches. Did we know he had diabetes or was that a result of his terrible shake diet? Edit: oh and it's amazing how he can switch from pathetic to menacing at the drop of a hat.
