Mining Scam Ecohashes?! (self.Bitcoin) submitted 3 hours ago by Cryptolover34 I've come across a new crypto mining site called ecohashes. Not too much info, but the hash pricing is too good to be true, so it probably is? The CEO is Harry Evan's, when selecting his image the alt text is "elder" someone was probably searching for an old guys pic online and uploaded it as the CEO. Only found out about it by watching Chico Crypto video the other day on YouTube. I'm pretty surprised he would endorse it, since he usually does a lot of intense researching before he covers a topic. Anyone come across this site?

I think they've removed the 'elder', because this is the entirety of the information about the 'team' they have now. Purse.io Is Shutting Down The company was one of the longest standing bitcoin-focused businesses on the market, having started at a time when one Bitcoin was worth $400. by Nikolay Nikov - 22h ago One of the longest standing and most popular early bitcoin projects is officially terminating its operations. Purse.io is shutting down effectively today after six years of spreading cryptocurrency adoption. New signups are no longer accepted, order matching will be disabled on April 23, while support for accepted orders and cryptocurrency withdrawals will be available until June 26. The sudden news took many early bitcoin adopters by surprise. Purse has always been looked at as a prime contributor to bitcoin adoption, thanks to its defining feature the ability to shop on Amazon with 33% discounts. Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash users will no longer have this opportunity, and perhaps even more importantly whats lost is the ability to advertise this remarkable feature to people who are yet to adopt cryptocurrency. In fact, Purse.io seed investor Roger Ver has been promoting the platform as an example of the utility of Bitcoin Cash as late as March this year suggesting that the news about the inability of the company to sustain itself might have even caught its investors by surprise. Purses business model relied on small fees being deducted from each successful purchase on the platform. Given the fact that the company was based in the San Francisco Bay Area and employed 17 people it required at least several hundred thousand purchases per year a figure far from what the the cryptocurrency ecosystem was able to provide. One could easily calculate that the $1.3 million in seed investments would get quickly drained given the circumstances. Yet despite its financial ineffectiveness, the company considered invaluable for Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash for its ability to introduce new people to cryptocurrency. A company similar in concept could receive funding and claim Purses place, given some expense optimisations are planned from the start. For the sake of cryptocurrency, we hope that this does become reality.

sqrt7744 22 points 22 hours ago* Amazon is shady as gently caress. Arbitrary as gently caress. If you build your business around them being predictable and honest, you're going to have a bad time. Edit: As an example, I bought 500 Euros worth of gift codes off some guy. 10 e-codes at 50 Euros each, all from the same person with the same email and same account (I know this for an absolute fact, as does Amazon, because when you click on "send thank you email" after entering each code, they are all directed at the same person, the seller). I then tried to buy an item and my account was quickly locked then closed with an explanatory email "it's against our terms to receive gift cards from a third party" - which is legit the most retarded thing I've ever heard. WHAT'S THE POINT of a GIFT CARD you CAN'T GIFT!!? Anyway, long story short, after much back and forth I got my account reinstated, but of the 500 Euros, only 150 was left, the rest had been straight up cancelled with no explanation given by Amazon. So, had the codes been obtained by fraud, then they should ALL be cancelled. If not, then they should ALL be there. Absolute scam.

You start dating someone. How do you explain you're a bitcoiner, and that you believe the current economic system is crumbling around you without coming across as a crazy person with "extreme views"? (self.Bitcoin) submitted 1 day ago by FracturedKnees I've started dating someone, and since last being in the dating game I have discovered bitcoin and Austrian economics. I'm all about being myself and not changing to suit the fashion, however for a no-coiner, the concept of a new form of money to replace the current economic system may come across as an extreme view, slightly crazy, and unattractive. How do you tackle the subject of economics if it comes up and you simply can't bite your tounge with your more Austrian economic views? As an example, I was re-reading The Bitcoin Standard (to pass the time during social distancing while staying home), and was asked "what are you reading?". Through fear of goin down a rabbit hole, I simply replied "it's a book on economics and the financial system that we live in". What would you have said instead? My other concern is regarding OPSEC. I don't know in these early days of dating this individual how serious it will get. Do I want to share my views on bitcoin only to be asked "do you have any?". While I would never tell anyone the amount I hold, simply admitting that you hold bitcoin decreases your OPSEC. How serious would it need to be to be open and transparent with a partner about your savings (including if some of those are held in bitcoin)? I would be keen to hear advice, and personal anecdotes. WittyStick 13 points 1 day ago Don't discuss Bitcoin unless she initiates the conversation. It will end up with her asking how much you have, which you want to avoid. If she brings it up, ask her if she has any before she has chance to ask you. The most likely answer will be no - at which point you say you've read a little bit about it and that you should probably look into it a bit more (together, perhaps). Don't reveal the true extent of your knowledge. Never reveal how much Bitcoin you actually own, even if you get married. Your money is for you and your progeny, not for a woman to potentially take half of. Your OPSEC should be securing a will so that if anything happens to you, your savings will be safely passed on to your children or other family members, which might include your future wife (but not the tax man!). However, they should not learn of this unless something does happen to you. On airing your economic views - you should just say what you really believe and cut through the bullshit in trying not to offend anyone or sound too radical. Women like men who are confident in their own views, and it is unlikely to put them off, unless they're lunatic socialists, whom you don't want anywhere near your life anyway. You should tell her you're reading about Austrian Economics, and she will either be uninterested, in which case you switch the topic to something completely different, or she'll be curious and ask "what's that?" in which case you should fertilize her brain jmdcarq89 0 points 1 day ago I usually say some joke like "waiting for bitcoin to rise to buy that yacht". The curiosity will do the rest, the important thing is to look like you dont care about explaning, make it casual
