coinbase is down right now which is where 95% of normie investors trade at, they're watching all their money go up in smoke and can't do anything about it

I'm starting to see some of the crypto-boosters on my Facebook timeline talking about "Flash sale for crypto! Get yours now!!!" Of course, since this is happening on a Tuesday the 19th, it's pretty much the worst possible time for the dumb retail crypto buyer. (Since those who get paid bimonthly don't have much money left over from their paycheck on the 15th, and those who get paid weekly/biweekly don't have much money left over from their paycheck last Friday.)

Also coinbase is down so they can't even buy lol

Tether works as long as all the big exchanges turn a blind eye and just trust that Tether is fully backed. The moment that illusion no longer holds everything falls apart.

The only way this dance ends is 1) Federal intervention of Tether, 2) Big crypto exchange goes insolvent and takes Tether with it 3) Price drops enough where they can't print their way out of it

the feds liquidate their bitcoins by auctioning them off in chunks to third parties, they don’t sell them directly on the exchanges

that’s how Tim Draper scooped up a bunch from what I believe was Silk Road

They would "burn them in" by mining bitcoin for themselves for months with hardware people had paid for, then finally deliver it as having passed quality checks when the difficulty went up making the hardware significantly less valuable.

BFL bought Buttcoin.org for $10k just to change the two negative articles about them. then the site got seized by the FTC when BFL shut down so I ctrl-c/ctrl-v the site on a new domain and kept posting lol

it was mostly crowdsourced from this thread so thanks to everyone here

killhamster did most of the great image sourcing of the mining rigs and stuff, he was good at finding dumps of that stuff. his image heavy mining rig posts were the most popular posts on the site

after we stopped posting on the site i was adamant about it staying alive in some fashion as a historical document. I converted the whole Wordpress site to static pages so everything should be preserved in time and it should be easy to host anywhere that can store ~5gb of content with minimal resources.

Sorry don’t know how to embed Twitter links on mobile.

people with legit, impactful, secret news that are on their death bed generally don’t tease releases out over a month’s time. if this stuff is so important that it will rock crypto to its core either you just release it and put a torrent out or pass it off to a news org who can disseminate and report on it.

this person is trying to make their own news.
