I am listening to it and they have nothing nice to say about us here at the Something Awful forums. I should just post the link to the video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STg0zMPnXFs The news report says this was a "height limiting concrete beam". I suppose to prevent tall trucks from going though. I would hope it would be more sturdy then that if it was meant to be hit by trucks. Maybe they only designed it to take hits from hollow box trucks and not sturdy metal.

I am only guessing but perhaps they thought they had it rigged so the cable would release off the skis after a point, but it didn't.

haveblue posted:Yeah but why does the skiier briefly stop and then get yanked again? Maybe the car forgot they were still tethered and tried to drive off? There was some slack in the cable before the yank, and it didn't miss the observer. He gets knocked down too when he was off camera. You can just barely see he gets knocked over just as the skier stops.

I think that trailer is either empty or has a very light load by the way it bounces. If it was loaded to max legal weight it would have destroyed its rear wheels on that bridge.

CRUSTY MINGE posted:DEF is a post combustion fluid. It's misted into the exhaust system to attract and trap particulate emissions. It's a separate system from fuel entirely. You could probably piss in a DEF tank with no ill effect, though. All of the DEF nozzles I have ever used at truck stops are actually thinner then gasoline pump nozzles. The DEF tank fill holes are just big enough to prevent dumb truckers from filling the DEF tank with diesel or gasoline. The few DEF trucks I used had tanks about 10 to 20 gallons.

I've never seen a DEF pump all by it self though. They have all been added to the side of existing diesel pumps in my area (north east USA). So that one in the picture might be different.

I mean they look like this in my area. A combo of diesel and DEF pumps. The DEF pumps in cold areas have to be covered and insulated or else it freezes in the hose. The one in the previous picture was in Texas I am guessing where freezing isn't a common problem.
