I've been staring at this thread since it was posted, it's like a goddamn Siren Song to me, but I will not bash myself upon the rocks, I will not.

It took longer than I was expecting for the weeb perverts to enter this thread and unironically suggest people watch animes that star 14 year old girls.

But it still happened, and I doubt anybody is surprised.

Yeah, like I said, the show has a garbage fanbase. Again though, the focus is on the tanks themselves, and the main show doesn't have fanservice (though the OVAs certainly do, not defending those). The German-themed team are the main villains of the show, and the Japanese only make an appearance in the movie, where they're presented as part of the protagonists' team to be sure, but as idiots. It's certainly nowhere near as bad as Hetalia, though that is a low bar to clear.

EDIT: Honestly, if it's propaganda for any one nation, it's propaganda for Britain- the British-themed team is the only one to not only constantly beat the protagonists but dunk on them.

You're talking about yourself, you realize that right? You're the garbage fanbase.

Are you ok, Big Beef City? Do you need a hug? I'm here if you need a hand to hold or shoulder to cry on

Dude you unironically suggested that a bunch of 30+ year old people watch a cartoon that stars a 14 year old child soldier. Do you honestly not understand even a little bit how that might seem weird at best and downright creepy at worst?

Skypie posted:

But it's not really an action show, it's kind of a slow burn about someone who was raised to be a killing machine entering civilian life and not really understanding how to connect with other people.

Tell me why this premise had to use a teenage girl. Is it not horrible enough if it's a 20-something soldier? Or did they do it solely because it makes your balls tingle?

Despite my burning hatred of anime I watched one last week. I found a Wizardry anime on Youtube and I played that game forever as a kid so I figured why not watch it.

At one point the 'heroes' come across a dead party, people torn open, impaled on spikes, horrible stuff etc. and then they find an earring on the ground so they assume there must be a woman among the bodies. One of them is like "hey maybe she'll be naked when we find her!"

They took a video game where gender is never even referenced (you don't even choose the gender of your characters) and managed to cram creepy sexual poo poo into it lol gently caress anime.

oh yikes apparently me liking Fate started A Thing

the thing is you really have to ignore literally anything not directly called Fate/stay night or Fate/zero. if it does not have "stay night" or "zero" after the slash, it's at best not meant for normal people and at worst outright loving garbage. most of the negative perceptions of the series as being "HISTORICAL FIGURES, NOW WITH BIG TITS AND/OR AS CHILDREN IN STRIPPER CLOTHES" comes from the god-awful spinoffs. (i'm still loving mad at Apocrypha for thinking that Jack the Ripper design was in any way, shape, or form okay.)

the main canon of the series, which as far as anime is concerned is currently Fate/zero -> Unlimited Blade Works -> Heaven's Feel, has precisely one gender-swapped historical figure, who wears full plate armor for 95% of the story (because she's King Arthur). it also has no children in stripper clothes. actually most of the historical figures are dudes, even.

instead, in Fate/zero, you get one of the most entertaining protagonists i've ever seen, a guy who chooses to fight in Wizard Highlander using the incredible magical powers of "having a big fuckin' gun" and "being willing to shoot people with his big fuckin' gun." at one point, one of the other jackass wizards sets up all these stupid traps in a hotel, and the show makes it look like the protag's gonna have to fight his way up to the top floor The Raid-style... and then it just cuts to the protag in a parking garage, holding a detonator and casually smoking a cig. he then presses the button and the whole loving building collapses on rear end in a top hat Wizard. because Emiya Kiritsugu is a stone cold motherfucker among stone cold motherfuckers.

lol that you're an adult and presumably somehow manage to function in society without excessive amounts of help

Sorry I'm not... inherently mad about wizard sex... I guess? Like yeah, it's based on porn, a fact which the adaptations largely handle by replacing the sex with hilarious CGI dolphins, who could possibly give a poo poo

Like I'm just gonna be upfront, I don't super get the whole "horny is always illegal and liking horny things is shameful" thing with goons, I don't really care if a series is horny as long as it's a) horny for adults and not children, and b) not solely an excuse for horny and has other cool poo poo going on

I'll drop it since y'all seem like actually genuinely caremad that I like that series though, jesus

It's got nothing to do with horny and everything to do with pointing and laughing at you because you enjoy a form of entertainment that requires you to be constantly vigilant for child porn.
