While it's not an official piece of work to accompany a song, it was specifically animated to accompany a song, would this qualify for this thread? It's one of my favorite pieces of animation ever made, it's called Moses, and is about a little ghost girl who wants to dance finding some haunted tap-dancing shoes, set to Moses Supposes from Singin' in the Rain. The way it plays around with what parts of each character is connected to each other at any given second is so masterfully done that I just wanna gush about it every time I watch it, how the shoes flip from dancing with her, with each other, and doing their own thing CONSTANTLY, the way it makes you automatically imagine connections between the shoes and the ghost girl, and it all works PERFECTLY. plus, it's adorable, and a little melancholic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byAfC5yW_hw&hd=1 Mystery Skulls's Ghost was such a huge phenomenon that it got turned into a series. the only problem is the guy only puts out one "episode" every year and a half or so, but they're always good and gorgeously animated. Ghost was posted already, then he did Freaking Out and Hellbent, which both show marked improvements in animation skill. I loving love a story told over the course of a music video, and the Mystery Skulls ones connect into each other too. The only animated music videos i've ever watched are maplestory music videos (MMVs, for those in the know). They are universally terrible.
