Shoutout to the other Blazing Chrome voter. It's a really good game! It's on Game Pass and you should play it! There's a powerup in one of the levels that I still don't know how to get! I watched a video where I guy got it but I did the same thing and I didn't get it! I dunno!

edit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55YObYKKezs&t=477s

Right here. There's the narrow crawlspace you have to roll through and on the above platform there are powerups. He dies here and respawns up there, but I tried dozens of times and the game always respawned me in the crawlspace. He's playing on easy and I was playing on Normal, but it doesn't seem like that would effect where each of us respawn upon death. I dunno!

I think I played the first Atelier Iris way back in the day but I don't have clear memories of it since I was playing just about any JRPG I could get my hands on back then.

I gave one a try but it really doesn't give me what I want from a JRPG. Very story light and focused on the crafting stuff. Also a kind of weird open structure that was interesting for a bit but I got bored of it.

I'll miss Shovel Knight getting more updates. In a perfect world where it didn't take the devs tons of time, effort, and money I'd love to see campaigns for every single Knight in the game. But I'm sure at this point they're eager to move on to a new project and I look forward to whatever they come up with next.

They're pretty cutesy but they aren't exactly like, *insanely* bright and bubbly personality-wise? Some of the characters are fairly snarky and there's some cynical humor. They're still mostly upbeat of course but there's a decent balance and back-and-forth in how characters talk to each other.

The dusk games especially actually have a really cool tone, since the main characters are still hopeful for the future but the world's literally dying and filled with lost ancient technology and stuff.

I like upbeat so that sounds like it'll work for me. I'll check out the Dusk ones, then--those sound very much like they're in the kind of setting I really like, if nothing else.

Should I just play them in order?

Yeah, Ayesha (the first dusk game) is a good starting point, and its sequel (Escha and Logy) is well-regarded too. The last one in the trilogy (Shallie) is generally seen as the weakest of the three, but it's not bad.
