I've gone back to The Prodigy Experience recently, and I will die on the hill of "the first half of 'Weather Experience' is better than the second"

Been a while since I added new tracks to the playlist. Found these on the Strictly Hardcore - Illegal Rave compilations, which I can't believe I didn't check until now. It's fairly underground (rough) sounding, but all the more real for it. (2nd playlist) Time Syndicate - Rock Wit Me (In Ya Face Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsVxZfxdMas (3rd playlist) Fantasy UFO - Headstrong (Techno Basshead Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3h-yL1icLI (SA playlist) Cultural Assault - Step Up (Boom The Bass Box Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjYLw4tXxa8

Telekom Electronic Beats finally did an oldschool rave ("UK Hardcore") episode of their long-running Blind Test series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjIwOTKZ-ok I was only able to correctly guess one - the Manix track. :P Though I have heard some of the others before. All the tracks they used are bangers, but not really consistently intense enough for the playlist. They did a very good job of highlighting 'the good parts'. Great lineup of guests too, with some real names from the era.

I already have a different remix in the playlist, but this one's pretty solid too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyKZ-oRRlLI

Small Strange Bird posted:I once met a guy at a party who was in a band that did a toytown techno song as a response to Sesame's Treat using samples from the theme to the old Rupert The Bear cartoon. I definitely remember having heard it at the time, but Google gives me nothing on it. Does it ring bells for anyone? This, maybe? https://www.discogs.com/master/267293-Jimmy-J-Dream-City-EP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFQGl7gHQ3I There's another track on that EP using Marilyn Monroe samples that's pretty dope - it's going in the playlist.

This reminded me that the Tempest 2000 soundtrack had some great 90s rave choons.
