I found out that my best friend from years ago--she would've still been my best friend, but time and distance and other factors in our lives took the bridge away--died last year. Her husband didn't bother telling any of us, or her own mother. She got married and disappeared into Texas and, it went upside down. She died of the same kind of cancer that tried to kill me. He just didn't tell anyone from the old life. Sometimes I wonder if she even knew we loved her. I loved her so much and I was so afraid when she couldn't talk to us anymore. For all the reasons. It's so complex and so frightening, and now, this. She, years ago, introduced me to Cibelle. I love Tom Waits. I do, it's...I just do. I love the song Green Grass. So she thought of me when she heard this. It's Cibelle, accompanied by Tom Waits, singing his song.
