day two down. as usual when i take a break from caffeine fizz drinks I’m starting to feel a bit tired and crankier than normal. I did however avoid visiting the tracker-filled website watuary.com ( ) and went about my usual business. while refuelling the car I walked right past the non water drinks and only bought fuel. a good day. tomorrow will be better. things are going to change I can feel it.

day three. lots of headaches in the morning quelled by two doses of Pam’s paracetamol. then I was all good and spent eight hours staring at a spreadsheet on a laptop that is far too powerful for the tasks I make it do. at around 4pm I went to the store and thought about buying a lemonade but instead I bought a delicious sausage roll that had been in the warmer since 8. delicious. 1.5l of water consumed. many piss breaks taken. a good day.

day four: another thrilling day at work looking at spreadsheets and making phone calls to dickheads. it is had to know what was causing my headaches: caffeine withdraws or the dickheads. either way, 1.5 litres of water was consumed by me and many piss breaks were taken. a good day.

day five | rima rā: I blagged a work from home day this Friday so I could look at my spreadsheets for 8 hours in peace and avoid the wails and moans from those aggrieved by the loss of the monarch of the commonwealth. I spent far too long building a lookup function to pull from two other sheets when I had the epiphany to just copy and paste and achieve the same result. nice. now I am enjoying my standard Friday night. kids are in bed. dogs are on my lap, wife is on the couch next to me watching some rubbish fashion reality tv show, and I am having my usual Friday night whiskey. today 1.5 litres of water and one whiskey drink was consumed. long love the king. the queen is dead. many piss breaks taken. a good day.

ono rā | day six: a spring storm has hit so have spent most of the afternoon inside by the fire. while it was wet in the morning I still managed to get out and clear some of the trees. the track gave way while I was on the quad and nearly went down a short 10m bank but I managed to recover and pull the drat thing out with the tractor. no harm done. I’ll patch up the track when the storm passes. got back to the house to find my wife about to leave to kick her baby brother in the balls for a few hours for being loving stupid. I had the afternoon to myself - and my children. we played Mario kart and a bit of Diablo 3. 2.25 litres of water was consumed. many piss breaks were had. a good day.

whetū rā | day seven: a lot of time dealing with copious amounts of water. clearing culverts and drains and such, as well as balancing the inputs and output of the swamp to ensure none of the nasty stuff gets in there. busy day! standing in a torrential stream of water weirdly takes a lot of effort for me. I’ve had quite the headache for most of the day. I don’t think it is related to withdrawal but I’m not doctor. I noticed that the weather has managed to fell through flag of my seemingly patriotic neighbour. either that or she just took it down in grief for her beloved Queen. who knows. well, I doubt I will know. but it wasn’t all work and flag watching. there were times of play with the children (rowing in the paddock puddles), a little dancing with my daughters, and of course, the drinking of water. 1.5 litres of water was consumed today. many piss breaks were taken. a good day.

waru rā | day 8: oof what a Monday. meetings all over the region. well three meetings about hundreds of kilometres driven to attend these meetings so take that planet earth. in my haste to get to one of the meetings, I left my beloved drink bottle behind at the other meeting! oh no! but fortunately I now always carry a spare bottle for just such situations. so the hydration continued. whew! hopefully they will send my other drink bottle home. one can always hope. 2 litres of water was consumed today. many piss breaks were taken. a good day.

I was working in the office in town today. well that isn’t such great news  but anyway I was in the office when a firefighter came in…holding my drink bottle I left behind in the meeting yesterday! apparently they were the next meeting after us in that building and someone there knew that was mine and gosh darn it didn’t that firefighter say “I know where that cow guy works I’ll just drop it off to him”… and you know what…he did! what a top bloke.1.5 litres of water was consumed today. many piss breaks were taken. a good day .

tekau rā | day 10: I blagged a day of working from home which was good because it was a beautiful 19 degree spring day. I can hear the frogs in their water. although I’m thinking it is a little early in the season for froggies to be croaking. regardless, it was a good day to sit in the sun with the laptop and get paid to excel. I received many praises from the boss for my excel functions today which I believe is underserved - it’s basically just vlookup - but whatever. the boss said I could knock off 20 minutes early because if mammoth excel efforts today. little did he know that because of the 2 litres of water I consumed that, I had many paid piss breaks. it was a good day

tekau ma toru rā | day 13: gosh what a Saturday. the fire service recommends drinking water every 20 minutes in order to stay hydrated. today I spent all day outside in the sun. mowing lawns and wiring up my external garage/shed with cat5e cable it was sweaty business and my urine told me to take on more water immediately! 2.5 litres of water was consumed today. fewer piss breaks were taken. a good day.

848pm. day 1. water consumed: 1.75L. piss breaks taken: many. I have weighed myself this morning more out of curiosity more than anything. it would be good to lose the festive fat though. a pretty good New Year’s Day today to be honest. weather was changeable, but got some gardening done and gave the dogs a good run. I had some minor headaches but not sure if that is from last nights whiskey or my body craving that horrible good stuff. all and all I kept on top of it and I am a winner. things are going to change I can feel it.

I’m rolling with it at the moment. water feels good man. work doesn’t feel good. excel for all its plaudits can suck a dick today. today is supposed to be my holiday. but at least I got to come home to a nice tall glass of iced water.
