Started playing both Ghost of Tsushima and Carrion. GoT is a supremely pretty game and I'm enjoying the "Samurai's Creed" feeling of it so far. Carrion is fun because you basically get to play a monster straight out of John Carpenter's The Thing, but in 2D side-scroller form.

That's disappointing to hear about the Transformer series on Netflix. While I acknowledge that Jordan is great if not the greatest, since the documentary was produced with his help, I can't help but be mad when he gets to control the narrative. Case in point, when Payton was talking about being able to handle Jordan during the finals and then the crew shows Jordan Payton's comments, he just laughs it off but the stats from the finals games after Payton was finally put onto Jordan would justify Payton's original comments.

I don’t know if Transformers bang. In the comics they seem to get off on cuddling. There’s special words for lifemate and good friend and poo poo. Hasbro thought (still thinks) that Transformers are boy toys and so only made boy versions and boy characters for the most part. There’s not a lot gender equity successes in the lore. They’ve tried some to approach it with the gnashing of teeth you might expect. If you want a samurai Transformer, that is Drift. Although tbh I have never been sure if he was supposed to be a real samurai or a weird poser.

i cant fathom how thered be gnashing of teeth about introducing more women into transformers. do they not belong in the cast of action heroes because these robot women belong in the kitchen? it makes no sense. youd think regressive morons would at least want more women around so that they can pair all the robots together in a hetero way. right now it seems like if there are so many male transformers (why are they gendered) that theyre all gay. which would threaten the kind of chud that doesnt want woman transformers. what a headache. why is this a thing

I was thinking about this last night. There is no reason I can point to for me being into the hobby of transformer collecting. I’ve got no childhood connection to transformers outside of (I think) owning the first three episodes on a vhs set as a kid. Neither I nor many siblings had much of the toys. I remember I had a dump truck tonka transformer and a Bumblebee Pretender. I actually had way more of the Beast Wars characters. I loved Inferno, who was a giant ant, and also I had some terrifying mosquito guy, and also I had an elephant combiner. Now, I kind of don’t give a drat about the beastformers (as toys, they are not super functional and kind of breakable). The first summer I was sober, I grabbed a Cliffjumper and a Megatron for the gently caress of it and I’ve been off the deep end ever since. Still cheaper than doing booze and drugs. I also really like Gundam, mostly because of robots, though the anti-war stuff helps. But I have no idea why I like robots. There’s no formative experience afaik. Just yayyyy big dumb chunky metal boots. Broad strokes, I think I filled in the massive gap of the identity shattering that happens when you sober up with something really dumb, endless, and fun to look at. These are my bot thoughts I’ll take my response off the air
