BraveWave announced today a massive collaboration with SNK - Generation Series 16 is King of Fighters '98, and they've got like a dozen other KOF titles lined up in the works too. https://www.bravewave.net/genseries/016 I'm incredibly hype, the King of Fighters franchise has great music. My only concern is how am I gonna store all these records and how am I going to respond to my wife when she keeps on saying "you got another record today, huh? Didn't you get one of those not too long ago?"

Detective No. 27 posted:Store them vertically. For my birthday last year my wife got me a really nice Unison cabinet from Symbol and my fear is that I'll fill it up and need to ask her for another one.

The iam8bit Ape Out record seems neat -- the game dynamically created jazz tracks based on your gameplay so the album is based on a specific run the developer did and that's what got recorded/pressed. https://www.iam8bit.com/products/ape-out-vinyl-soundtrack

It's me, I'm the sucker that these albums are made for I have Mondo's release of the SotN soundtrack, which I actually have a use for because it includes the Saturn bonus tracks I never previously got to hear. I ordered the Celeste soundtrack (even though it's highly digital and having it in analog form is pointless) mainly because I want to support the creator because I friggin' love that game and felt bad that they only got a few pennies from my listening through Spotify If they released We <3 Katamari's soundtrack on vinyl I'd buy it in an instant

It's crazy that they haven't released We <3 Katamari on vinyl yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mondo put We <3 Katamari on vinyl, I'm pretty sure their pressing of Katamari Damacy did incredibly well.

I'm sure it's a guaranteed thing to happen if the game gets a remaster. If I'm remembering correctly, the Katamari Damacy vinyl preceded the Switch/Steam remaster.

The Grandia soundtrack is on vinyl now, courtesy of Wayo Records: https://www.wayorecords.com/en/57-vinyls I picked up the limited version - their Skies of Arcadia box set is really quite nice.

My records.txt that I use to track open preorders made it up to like 22 (!) pending orders, but a couple things finally came in ![]() Got my copy of Poke and Chill that was lost in the mail for a month, plus my preorder of Tetris Effect 2LP. I’m glad I didn’t go in on the full version of that - the music is nice but I just can’t ever imagine sitting down to listen to all five discs, you know?

I had to skip on that release because part of me would be upset I didn't get the useless full set. The brain is weird that way. I need to make a list of my open preorders too. At this point I order something and am surprised when it arrives. Also COVID has hosed up any international orders I've made.

It's always cool to see games that I've never even heard of getting vinyl releases - I'm not super interested in getting the soundtrack, but the fact that putting music on vinyl is a more accessible thing seems like only a net good for the hobby right now.

Yeah, the more that are made, and seen to be selling, the more it encourages other devs to get in on the act, even if it's mostly smaller and indie ones, rather than, say, Nintendo.

The Square-Enix NA store recently stocked some records: https://store.na.square-enix-games.com/en_US/merchandise/music/vinyl It looks like they're out of the Chrono Trigger / Chrono Cross album, but Xenogears Shinkaku is still available.

A couple days late, but this should be cross posted here just in case: https://www.lacedrecords.com/collections/street-fighter Street Fighter 3 (all three versions) is getting a pressing from Laced. Box set, selected tracks, but I don’t think any of the standouts are missing.
