Joker was extremely mediocre and the good things they could take from it (letting talented actors actually act) they certainly will not (let's stir up dumb controversies! let's be edgy and depressing but not with a weird brown filter!). The film they should be learning from is Shazam! (let characters breathe in their own world before working them together/making them all fit into a common tone).

Like why would you think the director/producer of The Evil Dead and Spiderman wasn't a great choice for Doctor Strange? The character is a great fit for his strengths.

I'm for a Jodie-centric show but a huge part of Jodie's character in Daria was how even an "outsider" othered her because of her race so changing that dynamic just serves to erase the passive racism inherent in upper middle class suburbia that the early 2000s show recognized. They should have just made "Jodie" and done the whole thing from her perspective with Daria and Jane in the periphery, not being actively "harmful" but not really helping either.

That video and its follow up are so incredibly batshit insane, but also suddenly a bunch of weird as gently caress ads I've gotten on Facebook since I downloaded the Webtoons app started to make a LOT more sense after I saw them. I still don't totally get it because the pictures in the ads are all humans, and seem to be doing human things in the "sample chapters" in the ads, but I get it enough now to know I absolutely do not want any additional details clarified.
