It's the sequel to a recent adaptation of Viy. Yes, THAT Viy. Somehow. I don't know.

Guy Ritchie's Viy.

There were only like 15 movies in the entire 80's that had an inflation adjusted budget over $100 million.

2019 alone had 24 movies with budgets that high.

morbidly curious what this is referring to but the last time i watched Dr. Who it was still Young Emperor Palpatine in the role

I haven't actually watched it but from the complaints I heard people expected them to just pull a "Dr. Who was actually a girl from the start!" in response to people not liking the seasons with the female doctor, but then they went past that to "Dr. Who actually isn't from the Time Lord planet or even a Time Lord at all, he's some unique cosmic being that the Time Lords copied the regeneration ability from and now none of the doctor's dumb backstory makes any sense".

Dawn of the Dead remake is special to me because it was one of the first films I realized was filmed in Canada for budgetary reasons. iirc it was filmed north of Toronto, and you can see a couple of blue and white old Ontario plates, not to mention the fast food has the french labels (PFK - poulet frite kentucky).

I lived down the street from the mall they used and didn't find out they were shooting there until just after they wrapped. Man I wish I knew. A bunch of the location shots are in the immediate area around that mall, it's fun seeing your neighbourhood in the apocalypse.
