^^^ man that three-eye guy looks wistful! I love these! Turbinosamente posted:Dat's a good pokeyman, I like it. And since I can't seem to get the collage thread off the ground have a couple of collage pins I made recently. They're small enough to be considered a doodle right? Right? Those are cool! I like doing collage now and again. Here's a bad pic of one I did ages ago. I'm getting to grips with the digital stuff now, chums, I like Clip Studio Paint a lot.

Finally got around to redoing the profile pictures for Kandria. Still a couple more left to do, and some shading to add, but I'm liking these much better than my shoddy attempts at doing them in pixel art.

This whole collage pin thing may get me back into 3D art in a roundabout way as I've got three more pins planned out that use actual objects and figures (guess who has a pile of "found" objects she's totally going to make art out of someday!). The first one's not coming out as well as I'd hoped but the next two ought to be better.

I keep being like aw man I wish I had Art People to chat with and I keep forgetting this sub forum exists, somehow. Trying to draw more regularly these days. Learning my way around Procreate and which brushes I like.

The top one is amazing because of the light from that flame and how it reflects on their armour, but I am very partial to Ice Planet Doctor there who looks like he's saying 'What, it's loving frostbite, what did you think' for the tenth time today.

This is the improvement in my figure drawing over the past month with daily practice several times a day, which tbf includes heavily reliance on reference photos and figures but still I'm feeling it I'm still on a roll of drawing 2-3 new ones each day but I know myself and I know soon I'm going to burn out and then draw nothing for a month, then draw spaceships or landscapes or something for a month after that.

Today's project - work out how to import my pencil sketches to the digital program and go over them with an eye to someday making colouring pages to sell. So far so good! Next step: learn about line weights because oh boy what am I even doing. e: pls ignore clamp stand, I got bored

I love the watercolor look & paper textures in this, and the colors are spot on for watercolor. I did a double take with the Bulbasaur in your last post the first time I saw it because I couldn't immediately tell it was digital. Does Clip Studio Paint make that as easy as you make it look? And thanks! I'd love to make a coloring book one day. Here's a version with just the line art to make it easy on anyone who wants to color it digitally, feel free: e: It's titled "A Migraine" deep dish peat moss fucked around with this message at 19:24 on Jan 29, 2022 |

Ooo kickass thank you! I miiight. Yeah it's so easy! I followed a tutorial first time. Do the sketch, then a second line art layer - bulbasaur it was the pencil tool, decidueye I used the pen tool cause I wasn't sure if I was doing watercolour again or not. The pencil looks more natural. Then you go to the paper layer and there's a button for 'layer materials', and you drag over the 'fine paper' texture, I think it's called. Set the layer colour to cream. Then do the watercolour painting on a layer between the sketch (which you should set to invisible) and the lineart - brush tool, 'round watercolor' brush. Use the blend tool to even it out and make it look more natural, that's where the really natural-looking unevenness comes from. Then you go to your lineart layer and change the layer colour to whatever you want the line colour to be. Done. I know you know some of that but just in case anyone reading this is a n00b like me. e: oh and if anyone's hesitant, CSP has a 30 day free trial and even paid it's quite reasonable. You can buy it in a one-time purchase or pay monthly, I think it's like, £3.50 a month or £20 a year. I do not work for them or anything I'm just crazy excited about finding a digital art program I click with. HopperUK fucked around with this message at 20:03 on Jan 29, 2022 |

Thanks! One issue I identified is that the eyes look a bit small. I tried to redraw them but accidentally made them a bit too big instead.. Aw well, have a parrot:

Aw well, have a parrot: Yeah the proportions aren't exact but honestly it's time to leave that picture and if you still want a perfect Wonka, just draw him again. Even the first one though, it's obvious who it's meant to be. That parrot looks amazing! Coloured pencil? What brand you using?

Yeah, I think I actually made it a bit worse with my fix but I'll leave it like that and move on. It's one more page in my practice sketch book filled and that's the important part! Thanks again! Yes, made with coloured pencils. These are the ones I'm using: https://panduro.com/en/products/paint-draw/pencils-crayons/coloured-pencils/faber-castell-polychromos-24p-903167

I've been doodling neon beach scenes recently I think I'm getting somewhere with the idea but I'm not there yet. The sky is way too heavy in this one and overpowers the rest of it deep dish peat moss fucked around with this message at 22:19 on Feb 2, 2022 |
