He was right but there are rules saying he can't say stuff like that, so whatever fine him sure.

Being 4 times the maximum they can fine a player though lol

If your spine is curved more than 1 inch from a plane created by drawing a straight line alongside it then it's illegal in the NHL.

have all the Blackhawks bandwagon fans not abandoned their interest in hockey yet? surely we are coming up on that expiration date

Hawks are still fun enough to watch even if they stink. Lehner occasionally stealing games and the rookies having a decent start helps keep people interested too.

Personally I hate outdoor games and hope its anyone but Chicago. Vegas, Winnipeg, or Colorado would all be better picks.

Just got back from the Winter Classic! It was quite awesome!

I was right by the entrance, got to call Corey Perry a dumbass.

It was very fun! What a dumbass.

I was also by the pig racing and various animals! Lots of great animals, not enough dogs.

It feels like the NHL this year has been especially bad at protecting players. It's not just that the refs aren't making the right calls, but very little discipline coming from the DoPS.

Elliotte Friedman:

quote:

As furious as the NHL was at Tortorella’s outburst — and a suspension was considered — there were coaches/executives who privately indicated they supported him. He walked it back on Monday.

If there was a phone conversation between Tortorella and Colin Campbell, the NHL should make it available on a 1-900 number for $3.99/minute. The salary cap would go up $10 million.

During the anthem they had very loud fireworks for the "bombs bursting in air" plus all the people shouting "STARS" during the lyrics, and then the flyover. The horses were very spooked

Colin Campbell "recused" himself from the 2011 Finals only to see his personally appointed successor give out the longest suspension in playoff history in favour of his son's team. His son's team also faced no discipline whatsoever when a member of it literally broke the back of his opponent. Funny how that works.

The Canucks lost that series and rightfully so, they were totally outplayed. Doesn't change the fact that the whole thing was a mess of officiating and poor discipline that got completely out of hand. We haven't had a series result in that much bad blood or penalties since and I think a lot of that has to do with how the Rome hit and subsequent brawl were handled.

like I don't remember everything about it but I'm pretty sure those emails also showed or at least indicated he had a bias towards his son when it came to league discipline and reffing etc

he's a piece of poo poo and him calling anyone unprofessional is the biggest joke
