I know next to nothing about The Patriot, save one time I was on a class trip and we were staying in a hotel and I saw about 5 minutes of it in a friend's room, ending when my dad was like "I think one cannonball decapitation is enough for the night" and made us go back to our own room. Why I distinctly remember this bit of a class trip when I was like, 11 is a question for the ages.

The only part I remember of the movie is Mel Gibson melting down his dead son's toy soldiers to make musketballs.

The little captions in the first panel actually do say Izanagi (L) and Hachiman (R).

But in katakana, which is the system used mostly to either write foreign words, onomatopoeia, or technical/scientific terms.
