Kennel posted:Thanks for pointing out. That's really handy. No need to use extra scripts with gocomics any more. Is it hard to save strips off gocomics or whatever? I could make a bookmarklet to grab the image file easily enough if it would help comics posters.

Folks in this thread might enjoy this Twitter account that has been reposting Jucika strips. Jucika is a mostly wordless Hungarian newspaper strip from the 50s and 60s about the titular single woman. There are strong Mopsy vibes, except Jucika is probably less likely to kill someone, and rather than soldiers the men in her world are harmless simps. There is occasional cartoon nudity but the strip is still a wholesome one. If I had the source I'd post it -- but I don't, and reposting someone else's Twitter feed seems silly, so I'll just leave some samples. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Ghostlight posted:Classic Cat Zereth posted:... Huh? It's the painful wait when you're hungry at a yakitori/korean bbq/etc. restaurant but you have to wait for the meat to cook. It is far worse than waiting at a restaurant normally because your brain is excited by the act of a server bringing you a plate of food, and because you have nothing to do except stare at the food that you can't yet eat for several minutes. This one cut me deep.

Resident Idiot posted:I hadn't thought about this until you posted it, and I'm really glad this adventure ended this way, even though I'm not a fan of the "I'm not going to kill you, but I don't have to save you" sophistry. One thing I really like about Modesty Blaise is that the tension is all over the map. Unlike most villain-of-the-week stories it doesn't strictly follow the formula of crisis -> seems hopeless -> miraculous save -> happy ending Some villains aren't as threatening and once in a while there are downright pushovers. It makes the episodes where they do face off against a recurring endboss all the more thrilling. Kinda surprised Modesty didn't have anything to say about Willie killing two dudes in cold blood there. Usually she's against that sort of thing. But I guess she did watch them knock off Prue.
