I jumped into the new thread after getting 300 pages behind. What happened to the art of the strip with the pigman and his girlfriend? Has it gone into reruns from the early days? I'd like to congratulate whoever google image searches for these for filtering out all of the cow women who are just far too sexy for the newspaper. The Hungarians are famous for their potions?

Evil Mastermind posted:Working Daze makes a timely reference. The Will Smith is pretty bad but that's an unrecognizable Tommy Lee Jones. Way too smooth! e: or possibly it's a terrible Chris Hemsworth.

Because posting comics everyday is very boring and can be unrewarding. I very much enjoyed Juliet Jones when it was posted.

StrixNebulosa posted:The thing about Mark Trail is that I'm 28, and I'd be completely down for a comic about nature adventures and hiking because that's actually super cool... but somehow James Allen has managed to make it the most banal poo poo garbage for so long. I can't find him now but I'm subbed to a youtuber who goes into the desert and talks about random plants and rocks while cursing a lot and he's really entertaining. Or there's another youtuber who goes around his state clearing clogged drains on the roads and cussing out the local authorities who neglect their infrastructure, and these are great and could make for interesting comics with the right person at the helm. Wasn't James Allen a relatively recent hire, and it's not like the strip was thrilling before. It used to be competently put together, sure, but not exciting.

NRVNQSR posted:"Coming out" refers to the process of being introduced to society. It was originally used in the context of introducing young women into society when they reached marriageable age, and was later adopted to refer to young people joining the gay community. Given that they call it a debutante ball, it seems clear it's just coming out to marriageable society. Which is extremely weird given that I think they're like, 11. Some Guy TT posted:I feel like I need this printed out anytime someone tries to say that Joe Biden's hair sniffing obsession was a totally normal and unremarkable thing among people of his generation and that we're reading too much into it. I went and looked it up and he was 4 when that strip ran.

DMCA'd? I've never heard of Imgur scanning images for infringement, but I guess Far Side would be the one to do it. Going back through Professor Wayne's post history, FS have gone from their last post too
