I also defended my master's thesis (Humanities). The difference between the MA and the PhD is that an MA was read by an internal committee whereas the PhD had an external examiner.

No, you must be confused. This is the Popeye, Arlo & Janis, Nancy, Surgeon's Tales, Boss Dharma, and Nekonaughy thread.

In place of this post imagine an awesome edit where Popeye beats up Scott Adams - like a really good edit.

So one of those egg council creeps got to you too, huh?

Encyclopedia Brown also had one where a stolen key was hidden in a hotdog and the giveaway was that the mustard and sauerkraut had been added in the wrong order and apparently "nobody eats hotdogs that way"

There was also one where the giveaway was that a guy lifted a bar of gold over his head and that gold is too heavy to be lifted overhead so it wasn't gold, even though the story didn't specify how big the bar was or how easily the guy lifted it.

Zits debut in 1997, meaning 15 year old Jeremy was born in 1982. Wikipedia says Gen X began in the 1960s and ended somewhere from 1977 to 1984.

This means that today the dad is now Jeremy and Jeremy is his own son.

How's that frustrating. That makes it so much funnier that he managed to drive him to self improvement out of spite.

At first I was going to ask if Dustin was doing a paid advertisement for Peloton, then I was reflecting that if I were working as a marketing manager I'd be more likely to pay Dustin not to mention my product, but then I realized that there's probably a strong overlap between bougie people who would drop money on a Peloton bike and people who think that Dustin is funny.

Given the number of people who regularly read the comic, buddy probably made a solid twelve bucks from that product placement.

I hate to be a nit picker, but the punch line on this is the italics on "both" - "you cooked and ate them both?"

That Dustin is actually possibly the best Dustin I've seen. If you get past the "wine moms" thing, it has a bit of a joke and it doesn't come at anyone's expense via toxic boomer bullshit. The same gag would work for any type of glass and beverage.

Mind you it's still mediocre execution. It would work better with no dialogue after the first frame.
