Trailer for David Simon's "The Plot Against America"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_Xu6FuP-IM

I watched this last night and it's good so far. I mean there is not even a little bit of subtext here because it is a story about Jews persecuted by a fascist American government but it's nice to see HBO letting David Simon do his thing again.

King of the Hill is real good, even when they kind of ran out of prime material and got too popular for their own good. A bad season of King of the Hill is still good, especially compared to like, a bad season of simpsons or all of family guy.

If King of the Hill had been on for thirty seasons, I don't think it would have held up much

Is Seth MacFarlane basically just doing The Orville these days and pretending the animated shows don't exist? I sure would

I'm glad "The Plot Against America" is only 6 episodes because it's just too uncomfortable to watch. It's sad when the level of gaslighting in a fictional plot about the slow creep of Nazi influence in America is toned down from the reality that's happening around you. That's not the way that's supposed to work. You are supposed to watch stuff like that and be horrified and then thankful that reality is better. Instead, you watch it and think "well, we got that going on and we have a pandemic heaped on top."

The episode tonight was great though! I really like Zoe Kazan in this.

The Plot Against America is very very good.

The final episode just aired. Grim. I appreciated the overall feeling of confusion in the episode, where no one really seemed to know what was going on in the country. Of course the whole show is "Oops! No Subtext!" but it was very compelling.
