Me too, I think everyone's doing a bit

We've seen a lot of shows brought back with the original casts in the last few years but none of them have been as seamlessly consistent as the new Animaniaics. It is dead on the same show.

Have they shot any of season 3? And how does that work, does he still play a female character? I understand that being repeatedly misgendered can be very, if not simply irritating, traumatic for trans individuals, but maybe as an actor he's used to playing people he isn't. Do they recast with a person who IDs as female? I don't know what the correct thing to do here would be. I guess if Elliot is fine continuing to play the UA character that's ultimately his choice, but I could see how a person who is trying to transition would be confused and dismayed at having to essentially de-transition for work every day. I'm not very conversant on these issues so I apologize if I've misspoke, it was only in ignorance and not malice.

Don't even have to change the name, as I believe Vanya is a masculine name in Russian (I'm going off of knowing one Chekov play being called Uncle Vanya)

Has this ever happened before while a show was still in production?

Honestly it's surprising how well the media reported this story, instantly switching to correct pronouns and name and not even any not-mean-but-super-cringey copy or anything, that I've seen anyway. He is certainly the highest profile working actor to transition - while in the middle of a popular series no less! - and it's heartening to see everyone just be like "cool" instead of "oh does this mean that [TROLL STATEMENT]"

Those reality shows about people living in Alaska or looking for gold in Bigfoot's rear end are insanely popular among the "our parents" set, if every holiday I've spent at my folks place in the last 10 years is any indication.

Anyway, for me: gently caress movie theaters, good riddance, I'm sure people whined about nickelodeons becoming obsolete but with giant HD TV's costing relative peanuts it's a change that's a long time coming

Yeah I love having to go see the new hit movie at 9 am on a Tuesday because otherwise it's impossible to get tickets opening week- and paying fifty bucks all in to do so

I haven't seen a movie in a non-dining theater in probably 10 years.

Big Mean Jerk posted:

Yes, gently caress big multiplex chains like AMC etc because theyíre garbage, but the likely loss of little boutique chains and independent theaters absolutely sucks. Movies are meant to be enjoyed on a huge screen with an audience, especially comedies. Unless youíre some billionaire who can just build an actual theater in your home, a 50Ē-75Ē tv in your living room isnít the same experience at all and movies are gonna suffer for it.

I think it's more likely that the boutique, smaller theaters will do better by catering to an enthusiast audience, it'll be the massive chains with millions and millions in property lease notes that are going to go bankrupt. Those indy theaters could be the only place to see a movie in theaters.
