BLUF: Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (CCDC SC) is asking all female Soldiers to complete a survey about athletic bras by 30 October 2020 in order to inform Army and AAFES of the requirements of female Soldiers. As an increasing number of female Soldiers assume combat roles, the emphasis on the acquisition of female specific OCIE and PPE is becoming greater. On June 25, 2020, the 151st Army Uniform Board identified improving the athletic brassieres selection available to Soldiers and Trainees as a priority. In order to allow female Soldiers to define what improvements are needed and to identify the current best performing commercial-off-the-shelf athletic bra, the Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center has built an online survey of questions targeted to gather their needs and preferences for this highly personal item. The specific objectives of this survey are to better understand the Solders' perspective on functional design elements that impact the overall effectiveness of an athletic brasserie as well as individual and situational factors that influence the levels of support required. These data will be used to directly inform decisions regarding which athletic bra the Army makes available to female Soldiers in the future, either through the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) or as an issued clothing bag item. Soldier input is integral to the program's success. We ask that you take 20 minutes out of your day to complete the survey using the provided link below to ensure that the Army provides the best possible athletic bra options moving forward. We also ask all Commanders and Senior NCOs to help us distribute this survey to the largest possible number of female Soldiers to maximize our sample size for the survey and to ensure as many opinions as possible are collected. All surveys must be completed by 30 October 2020 in order for the input to be processed and reported. Thank you for your support in this effort. https://ccdcsoldiercenter.gov1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5p6jc4yv1QaYd7f Albert Adams Soldier Clothing and Configuration Management Team Combat Capabilities Development Command - Soldier Center albert.a.adams16.civ@mail.mil 508-206-3067

it's an amusing email, but it seems like the whole point of it is so that the women can determine what's needed going forward?

Is there an acknowledgment email that reads like a delete notice? Stay tuned for how badly this fucks up, and remember that nobody wins by being in the army! e: who wants to take bets on how many porn websites that poor guy’s email is now subscribed to?

I think it would be pretty quick, the Army is VERY on board with fully integrating women into combat units. Right before I left the Army we had some civilian women come and do private interviews with the women in combat MOS's that we had down in the platoons, the whole series of tasks leading up to those interviews seemed like it definitely has the attention of people high up in the military. Also had some congresswomen come and talk to them. Considering it's just resourcing a fairly simple piece of clothing from among those that already exist I think the turn around to having these available will probably be fairly fast when compared to most things the military tries to do.

Question for any engineer types out there but does the Army (or any service for that matter) have a system like this fielded? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nmQmVeUF_o

Yeah, it's privates. If they've got those, I never saw it. We weren't setting up triple strand in the middle of a street very often, though. Not sure how that would fare in the middle of the woods.

Supposedly they used something similar around Balad airbase around 06 according to my buddies. It doesn't really matter, because you still have to use people to set pickets and barbwire to make it to standard.

I think 2 BCTs may be getting a new patch to wear sometime in the not too distant future. They ditched the 2ID profile picture around the time all the protests started.

I could see them re-flagging the 2nd Division as the 7th. The 7th's HQ was recently re-activated and the Indian Head patch might not be considered PC anymore. 7th 2nd

The 2ID HQ is still in Korea, the Stryker brigades at Fort Lewis have fallen under 7ID since it was stood up. I'm also pretty sure neither the 1st nor 2nd BDE that wear the 2ID patch have ever been stationed in Korea or fallen under 2ID HQ. I got to 2-2 SBCT at the beginning of 2016 and other than the patch we wore there was nothing we did even that was even remotely related to 2ID. I'm not sure exactly when it started but both brigades have been singing the 7ID bayonet song every morning before PT since I got there. I'm surprised they didn't do it when they reactivated 7ID's HQ.

Both BDEs on Lewis reported to 2ID up until 2013, when we switched to 7th. It was pretty dumb to stand up a whole new command just for them, but it was also super dumb having to get approval from Korea to launch UAVs in NTC.

Yeah, the E-5 that was killed was in my battalion on my last deployment. Usually saw that dude walking around and was really happy go lucky and one of the good ones. One of the many reasons why I decided not to stay in - I had been to too many funeral services for aviators that were killed in training. https://www.texastribune.org/2020/12/08/fort-hood-vanessa-guillen-army-investigation/quote:Between 2014 and 2019, an average of 129 felonies were committed annually at Fort Hood, including murder, kidnapping and sexual assault. That’s a felony every 3 days, if you wanted to keep track quote:At Fort Hood, investigators found, emergency officials did not conduct initial investigations until a soldier was missing for over 24 hours. That was the case when Guillén went missing, even though there were immediate indications that her absence was suspicious. Her ID, car keys and other items were found in an arms room where she had been working, but an investigation did not begin immediately. Ok and that’s enough reading for the morning before I spend the rest of the day mad, thanks ft hood! Jk one more, this is a nesting doll of of failures, fuckups, neglect, and dereliction of duty. quote:“Over the years, those in command at Fort Hood, however, failed to make the connection between the health and safety of the Soldiers and mission readiness. This paradigm of benign neglect was allowed to take root over time at Fort Hood, at the expense of Soldiers, particularly females in combat units.” Can we bring back Decimation, but for all the officers that were somehow involved?
